COMMENTS: Here is the real problem. My own investigation reveals the following:
1 - one night he was drunk and partying with young women; he drove off a bridge, ran away like a coward, did not get help for 8 hours, and let the young woman die in an air pocket in 6 feet of water
2 - at a conference, he brutally bit and raped a nursing home operator and told her to put ice on it
3 - in his office, he assaulted a woman pleading for a job whose husband had just died
4 - on Easter Sunday, he showed off his Bible for photo ops in the morning, then got a BJ from an intern in his office right after church
5 - he exposed himself to a woman brought to his hotel room by troopers and told her to kiss it
6 - he gave government jobs in exchange for sex
7 - he had thugs slash a woman's tires, kill her cat, and threaten the lives of her children if she testified in a sexual harassment case
8 - he and his brother had sex and cocaine parties with underage girls
9 - behind the scenes, his evil satanic wife threatened women who might come forward and cause him grief

3. Hurt the Romney/Ryan campaign.
Every Freeper with any character at all is calling for Mitt Romney to withdraw from the race because he will hurt the RINO/Ryan campaign.
Last I checked, the definition of "character" does not include trashing the good name of an innocent man, helping perpetuate false impressions about him and refusing to give him a second chance or accepting his apology for simply using an ambiguous word that was falsely interpreted by the pack of liars known as the Democrats. There's nothing Christian about how Akin is being treated, nothing admirable about how Akin is being treated and nothing right about how Akin is being treated. It shows politics to be a dirty, disgusting, unethical game on all sides of the aisle that shames us as a nation.
How do you know what the voter's reaction would be??? Are you a mind reader??? Do you live in Missouri??? What makes you think that the voters of Missouri wouldn't vote for him even if he had a gaffe a day???
And better yet what makes you think that the Missouri voters who supported him would then vote for a replacement candidate???
From what I understand about him, I know what is in his heart. If I were in Missouri, yes, I would vote for him. But he has made himself radioactive. It is the grand slam of screwups because he turned around a very winnable race.
Akin didn't violate any laws or ethics. He stood up for the lives of unwanted, unborn children, which is more than Mitt Romney did as governor. He simply used one ambiguous word that was falsely interpreted by Democrats to make him sound bad.
2) Akins only shot at any historical significance is to become a footnote in future encyclopedia articles on Barack Obama, the import of which would be why BO was elected to a 2nd term.
That slot in the books has already been taken by perennial election loser Willard Mitt Romney who can't get his poll numbers consistently above the worst president in the worst economy in decades. But then he does have to spend half of his media appearances talking about why he won't release his tax returns despite the harm it does to the Republican party.
Akin needs to get out. He needs to get out. He needs to get out.
I dont care if you say we are playing their game. The fact of the matter is THEY are going to play their game from now until November. So, if all we want to hear is legitimate rape from now until then Teddy the A. has got to go.
FIXED IT FOR YOU BELOW!
In another year maybe this tax return issue wouldnt have been so, so awful. But this year, THIS YEAR? With the BS criticism of the 1% and income inequality meme from the dems? When Obama is toast (or was)?
Romney needs to get out. He needs to get out. He needs to get out.
I dont care if you say we are playing their game. The fact of the matter is THEY are going to play their game from now until November. So, if all we want to hear is release the tax returns from now until then Teddy the R. has got to go.
And what makes you think that conservatives in Missouri will support a replacement candidate handpicked by the party elitists?? That will be unwinnable.
>> I think he meant to say actual rape instead of legitimate rape.
Based on the text, that’s my take as well.
I plan to watch him on Hannity to get a sense of his judgement in action. I’m only familiar with the quoted statements that includes the controversial statistics he cited.
Sorry, I’ve got to quote Perry Mason: Irrelevant, incompetent and immaterial.
Why is Akin yammering about this stuff?
Because millions of murdered babies trumps everything you've mentioned. Abortion is absolutely an economy-killer as well. There is not a base of young people growing up to support our elderly. And countries with high populations are more likely to thrive economically for all sorts of reasons. Just put it on a sliding scale. A country with 0 people produces a lot less economically than a country with half a billion people.
If only we had this kind of passion to run third party against RINOs like Romney, the country might not have sunk as far down into the dung heap as it is now.
Your Post #18 is one of the more arrogant I’ve ever readon her.
Just because none of us live in Missouri means that we can’t criticize your Senate nominee?! Well guess what? We sure as hell CAN!
It affects all of us because Akin staying in the race could cost the GOP control of the Senate. YES, that does affect us.
It affects all of us because the Democrats have a perfect soundbite to be repeated over and over, causing our GOP candidates to be tarred with Akin’s idiotic comments. YES, that does affect us.
Remember this much. I better not catch you offering commentary on politics from my state or any other state. I will call you out on it. I will call you out as a hypocrite.
You're right. Romney heeds to get out more than Akin does. All we're going to hear from now until November is "where are those tax returns" and the soundbites of his excuses.
Do you have a link to a page like that to ask Mitt Romney to resign from the race? That's something that would have been really useful during the last 12 months or so.
And his getting out of the race could cost the GOP control of the Senate as well. What makes you think that the voters of Missoouri will support the elitists' replacement candidate???
And finally he said the God-given truth that abortion is always wrong because the baby is an innocent who doesn't deserve to be punished for the actions of anyone else. If you believe people should have the right to butcher unborn babies in the womb, please state that clearly so we know why you might REALLY oppose Akin.
The cunning and devious liberal press have seemingly scored again. Up in Canada, the television's man in Washington chortled with his information. He gloated over the apparent hit on Governor Romney's campaign. Then they threw in something about a Pubbie swimming naked in the Sea of Galilee. Shouting home their boy, though not having a vote. Few seem to step back and actually define what this gentleman Akin, actually said.
I seem to remember one of the greatest things about America is the First Amendment to the Constitution. I feel a donation coming on to Free Republic, for otherwise I would not have little input. At least there is no lock step on Free Republic. We can agree to disagree.
Oh, remembering your piece on the tube station bombing in my native country. Liked it.
That's a total misinterpretation. He always said it would make pregnancy LESS LIKELY. Obviously almost nothing in the medical world has the same effect 100% of the time on everybody. It's just silly to assume he would have even said that, especially since his words were totally qualified to say that pregnancies are possible under the kind of forcible rape he was talking about, just POSSIBLY less likely, if the medical doctors he referenced were correct.
Two stubborn facts remain: (1) Romney is better than 0bama, and (2) Romney is the Republican Nominee
ME:
Two stubborn facts remain: (1) Akin is better than McCaskill, and (2) Akin is the Republican Nominee
“What makes you think that the voters of Missouri will support the elitists’ replacement candidate???”
Seriously?
Akin is pretty much Dead Man Walking - politically. If winning this seat means that “elitists” could pick the replacement candidate, then so be it.
McCaskill’s polling numbers are so bad it’s more than likely that anyone who replaces Akin will beat her in N ovember.
You've been following these threads for this long and you still never heard of "statutory rape?"
