British MP George Galloway has created controversy in the UK for comments made about rape during a British radio broadcast.
Galloway was discussing the sexual allegations against WikiLeaks mastermind Julian Assange in an episode of his "Good Night" podcast published on August 18th.
The New Statesman has transcribed the controversial comments:
Let's take woman A. Woman A met Julian Assange, invited him back to her flat [apartment], gave him dinner, went to bed with him, had consensual sex with him. Claims that she woke up to him having sex with her again. This is something which can happen, you know.I mean not everybody needs to be asked prior to each insertion. Some people believe that when you go to bed with somebody, take off your clothes, and have sex with them and then fall asleep, you're already in the sex game with them.
It might be really bad manners not to have tapped her on the shoulder and said, "do you mind if I do it again?". It might be really sordid and bad sexual etiquette, but whatever else it is, it is not rape or you bankrupt the term rape of all meaning. . .

I don’t consider it rape either. How was he suppose to know she found her morals after taking a short nap? She should have asked him to leave if she was done with him. I guess she hasn’t spent too many mornings naked in bed with a man.

BTW, I think one of the elements of the crime of rape is penetration without consent. Once consent to such an act is given, I don’t think it’s rape. Of course, if she says, during the deed, “get off me and die scumbag,” the gentlemanly thing to do is to stop. But most guys won’t do that. That’s bad manners.

The fact is there is not a court in any free common law nation that would convict Assange of rape in a fair trial.
The fact is that the alleged victim had consensual sex with Assange, remained in the same bed sleeping with him ( this is actual consent to the 2nd episode of sex by the alleged victims action, not even implied consent, according to law).
You can have all the moralistic wet dreams you want. Given these facts , Assange is not guilty of rape, even though he is a scumbag for other reasons.
