British MP George Galloway has created controversy in the UK for comments made about rape during a British radio broadcast.
Galloway was discussing the sexual allegations against WikiLeaks mastermind Julian Assange in an episode of his "Good Night" podcast published on August 18th.
The New Statesman has transcribed the controversial comments:
Let's take woman A. Woman A met Julian Assange, invited him back to her flat [apartment], gave him dinner, went to bed with him, had consensual sex with him. Claims that she woke up to him having sex with her again. This is something which can happen, you know.I mean not everybody needs to be asked prior to each insertion. Some people believe that when you go to bed with somebody, take off your clothes, and have sex with them and then fall asleep, you're already in the sex game with them.
It might be really bad manners not to have tapped her on the shoulder and said, "do you mind if I do it again?". It might be really sordid and bad sexual etiquette, but whatever else it is, it is not rape or you bankrupt the term rape of all meaning. . .

Galloway: Anti-rape reaction is a Pentagon conspiracy - August 20, 2012"Oh how this 'liberal' chorus of Pavlovian reaction must delight the Pentagon!" he tweeted.
"Oh my, what a lot of 'liberal' useful idiots the Empire can count on."
He won’t be forced to step down as the Repubs and Dems are demanding of Akin.
George is absolutely correct.
And Assange had a legal twofer.
Maybe in *your* filthy world,Comrade, but not in mine.
The Assange case has nothing to do with rape. its an excuse.
Perhaps this is not legitimate rape...
George Galloway... was discussing the sexual allegations against WikiLeaks mastermind Julian Assange in an episode of his "Good Night" podcast published on August 18th.
I disagree that its bad manners. You must have permission every time. It might be rape but it be pretty hard to convince others of it unless they were actually there
WEll, back then they said ORal sexual harassment was fine because it was just sex... and then not even sex according to Clinton... so, there you go.
Sodomizing childlren is not traumatic according to the APA either...
Akin is being blamed not for the rape comment, but for the antiabortion part.
The BBC banned Winston Churchill for less.
OK, lets remove the fact that he had a sordid twosome with two random girls, and pretend that it was his wife. What then? Would having sex with your sleeping wife be rape, or would it just be bad manners?
My viewpoint would be that, after the first time that night, consent would be implied unless explicitly withdrawn.
No surprise here. Galloway probably got the idea from reading it from some “Ask the Imam” website somewhere. He is one of the UK’s biggest supporters of Islamist ideology.
Honest, your Honor - George Galloway said so!
“Would having sex with your sleeping wife be rape, or would it just be bad manners”
I have been married 30 yrs and know for a fact! If I wake my wife up for sex, I might as well get divorced. You don’t wake my wife up unless you are dying, and if you do, an ambulance better be involved!
But was it a “legitimate” boink?
Do not let Todd Akin hear about this.
