Now, all you bedwetters, WHO will be the NEXT conservative you throw under the bus to appease the media?????????? We don't need a "Conservative" Joe Biden to hand the race to Obama. Nuke Akin Now.
To: randita
The somebody should be Jon Brunner, the second place primary finisher. If they pass over him, thats a slap in the face to him and his supporters and he would probably be within his rights to mount a legal challenge. Dont need that. The party needs to be united. Just schedule a new runoff two week from tomorrow. Brunner "won" by 0.2% with Akin pulling god knows how many votes from Sarah. Not enough.

Tell you what. When you see me calling other freepers pantywaists, bedwetters, etc, then you can legitimately say “Look who’s talking” but obviously I don’t, so you can’t.

He sure doesn’t sound like he is withdrawing on Hannity, even though Hannity is strongly urging him to get out. You can almost hear Hannity shaking his head violently as the guy is talking.

To be honest, who cares?
I don’t. The man mis-spoke, whether out of ignorance or vanity.
Happens.
No big deal.
I have heard this old chestnut of a beleif about rape and pregnancy for years. On talk shows and everywhere else. Only becasue he is a conservative is anyone taking this seriously. Heck a dem was worried about flipping over GUAM a couple of years ago.
As I said, No Big Deal.

Incorrect. HUGE DEAL.
An election that should be about the economy, Obama's unconstitutional moves, Obama's socialism, Fast and Furious, and so on, ad infinitum.... will instead be about rape.
Period.

All Akin had to say was something along the lines of: "My position or anyone elses position on abortion wont matter if we dont start getting some jobs for people to make a living or we cut the debt we are about to hand our children and grand children." He could have walked into the senate. You're right. He fell for the trap. He gave them the soundbite they were looking for. Akin is a good man, a solid conservative--if he stays in, I'd still support him--but he stumbled badly, probably ruining his chances.
To: Lazamataz
Naaah.
Ignore it and dont engage about it and it goes away.

a guy that won because of dem crossover votes. Akin did not win because of Dem crossover votes. He won because more of us Republicans in Missouri preferred him over Brunner or Steelman.
To: Chickensoup
Naaah. Ignore it and dont engage about it and it goes away. No, it doesn't. A complicit media will see to it. They will tar all Republicans with the stench of these comments. They will also see that the fictional War on Women is resurrected.
Akin has nobody to blame but himself. But he must go.

Now on Drudge, buzzfeed reporting he’s out.
Here is some irony, Obama calls Aikin’s remarks “out of bounds”!

Good!!!
Clearly not ready for the big stage.
What he said contained some nuggets of truth, but he delivered it in such a mangled way that I question his ability to run an effective campaign going forward.

I agree with you. There are a bunch of Akin bashers on Free Republic and I think they are all libs who have never seen an abortion they don't like. Akin got his words out wrong but the illegitimate rapes he was talking about were all the so called “rapes” that young girls scream about when they do get pregnant without rape involved but just bad choices. This whole matter points out how far our society has fallen into the muck in approving killing unborn children. That is what is disgusting and inhumane not anything Akin said.

You’re the one being led around by the media. Not me.
You’re the one demanding a gaffe free candidate. Not me.
You’re the one not realizing this kind of stuff will never stop from the libs. Not me.
To: GOPinCa
This should be a sharp lesson to every single GOP person running for office this fall. A slip of the tongue or poor statement could ruin your career and damage the entire effort to oust Obama. Romney/Ryan have got to be fuming.

It looks like she will have to be going Kit Bond or Jim Talent which I am pretty sure they can both beat her esepcially Bond who left Senate on high note.
