Seems as though the author of this text appears to be pro-abortion yet acknowledges the rarity of pregnancy happening as a result of rape.
Are we now going to see the media and the bedwetters on this site call for the public censure of Linda Ledray, the Director of the Minneapolis Sexual Assault Resource Center??

While this is interesting and all, it is a distraction and the dude needs to go. We don’t need to be spending time from here until November defending him in this way. We have bigger issues to discuss and the dems are salivating over this remark and trying to resurrect the whole war on women meme.

I've had "unprotected" consensual sex hundreds of times and only instigated 5 children.
So I would say that "it is rare that women become pregnant from unprotected sex" but it does happen.

It doesn’t confirm what he said. Pregnancy from rape is rare because rape is much rarer than consensual sex, and the odds are against getting pregnant from a single instance of intercourse. His theory about a woman’s body having ways of shutting down it it’s rape is nonsense.

It doesn't matter if Akin's statement was correct or not. The reason why he said it is the center of the storm, even if some people aren't able to articulate why very well.
He had no courage of conviction to make a stand and say, yes, you should carry a baby even if you are raped because the baby's life is sacrosanct. He tried to avoid taking a stand altogether by diminishing the scenario altogether.

Kinda funny how an apology for a Democrat’s gaffe is automatically accepted and settles the matter.

Anyone who listens to the clip can clearly see he specifically said the baby should not be punished for the rape, the rapist should be punished. His conclusion was as clear as day. The only confusing part of the statement was what he meant by "legitimate rape." But the idea that he meant something creepy or nefarious by that confusing term is an idea only a leftist could imagine given the clearly Christian context of his statement.

The chance of getting pregnant from a rape is low, just like the chance of getting pregnant from any particular case of unprotected sex is also low. Add to the fact that many rapists use condoms, and many rape victims are on birth control to begin with, and the chance of pregnancy drops even lower.
Akin did not say that the chance of getting pregnant form rape is low. He said that a woman's body automatically works to prevent pregnancy in the case of a rape.

When you go to the hospital, they give you drugs to prevent pregnancy.

Has Whoopie Goldberg “weighed in” as to how this applies if it wasn’t “RAPE rape”?

If God guides you instead of the Left, you'll be left feeling more productive. Remember, they are wrong regarding their abortion stance, and we should not let them forget it.

He also said something like "the body trys to block the pregnancy" which is kinda vuduish.
When I was young "Aggravated Rape" was punishable by death.
If the current abortion laws had existed when I was young (not related in any way to rape) many of my friends and acquaintances would likely never have existed.
Basically I believe rapists should be executed, and babies should be born.
If I were a politician today, given the laws in place, I would never discuss the two subjects in one statement.

I remember that guy. When asked how he would get Democrats to work with him, he pointed out that he was a life insurance salesman, and “if you can talk a Texan into giving up his beer money so his wife can live comfortably with another man after he’s dead, you can talk anyone into anything”.

While the rape-pregnancy connection may be relatively rare, I think the big problem is the claim that the body itself can prevent pregnancy as a result of “legitimate” rape. This is physiologically impossible.

Excuse me , but I do try at all times to let God guide me. What Akin said about so called ‘legitimate’ rape was stupid. We don’t need to be having a debate about who determines what rapes are ‘legitimate’ or whether or not a woman’s body seldom gets pregnant during a rape!! I am pro life but this is just dumb.

You've proven conclusively to me that you don't know the first thing about politics.
You've been here nearly eight years, and you still don't get it?
Akin is toast, and they'd better put Sarah Steelman in the game, instead of Brunner.
This is the battleships off Omaha Beach. The Left and the media (but I repeat myself...) will pour in 14 inch "legitimate rape" shells on the Republicans from now until November. Thanks, Akin.
