I was a good loser four years ago. In the grand scheme of history, I wrote the day after Barack Obamas election as president, four decades is not an especially long time. Yet in that brief period America has gone from the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. to the apotheosis of Barack Obama. You would not be human if you failed to acknowledge this as a cause for great rejoicing.
Despite having beenfull disclosurean adviser to John McCain, I acknowledged his opponents remarkable qualities: his soaring oratory, his cool, hard-to-ruffle temperament, and his near faultless campaign organization.
Yet the question confronting the country nearly four years later is not who was the better candidate four years ago. It is whether the winner has delivered on his promises. And the sad truth is that he has not.

Funny! I put this up on my FR homepage a couple years ago...
Theme song for 2012: Hit the Road, B’rack
BHO:
“America, America, don’t treat me so mean.
You’re the meanest old nation that I’ve ever seen.
I guess if you say so,
I have to pack my things and go.”
We the People:
“That’s right!
Hit the road, B’rack, and don’t you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.
Hit the Road, B’rack, and don’t you come back no more!”
FUBO!
I hope every Freeper passes this story along to others, because it is a pretty strong indictment against Obama on the facts and empirical evidence.
I share your shock that Newsweek is publishing it.
“If 0 has even lost Newsweak just who does he have left on his side”
Chicago. Neo-Leninists. Paleo-Leninists. Jihadis. Anti-human greens. Planned Parenthood.
I think that about covers it.
Mebbe I'm a plankton, then. It wasn't a cause for rejoicing then, and it's sure not now. King was a sneaky Commie who used a lot of good, patriotic people to get where he did. 0bummer is a . . . well, they do have a lot in common. Give me a mass movement led by Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams, and then we'll talk about rejoicing. These America-hating socialist hypocrites are evil.
A BTT for a very interesting piece. Thanks for posting.
“Despite having been full disclosure an adviser to John McCain, I acknowledged his opponents remarkable qualities: his soaring oratory, his cool, hard-to-ruffle temperament, and his near faultless campaign organization.”
THIS WAS THE WHOLE PROBLEM .. all these people were so eager and falling all over themselves to tout the “remarkable qualities” .. they forgot to look under the covers and find out what Obama was really all about.
Lord have mercy!!!
Perhaps they realized there is another 3/4 of a nation who could become customers?
Bull crap. It was quite easy to ruffle BO's feathers. So, the MSM stopped quite quickly when they realized he was so thin-skinned (and big-eared).
Well he always has Paul Krugman who rates this piece as an Unethical Commentary citing all the errors in reporting the CBO numbers. Comments left by the readers shows Romney still has his work cut out for himself.
“And his near faultless campaign organization.....
If you have a lapdog media covering for you and spiking any newsworthy incident that might harm your campaign, it’s pretty easy to have a “faultless” campaign. Obummer did not have to campaign in the REAL WORLD!
This time around, the pajamas media is making it a bit more difficult for him. And our shiney new VP Candidate, plus the POTUS Candidate who actually WANTS TO WIN, makes LOADS of difference.
Ferguson’s article is worth a read — an inspiring recap of why the Romney-Ryan ticket gives some cause for hope of recovery from Obama’s broken promises and empty dreams. But I really hope everyone will read some of the Beast “Comments”, to remind themselves how aggressively, relentlessly, deluded the Obama minions really are. These folks cannot let themselves creep out of denial — they still blame Bush, or x, or y, or z.
As Ferguson points out, Obama has “narratives”, not plans. Narratives make for pretty fairy tales, but I sure am glad Eisenhower had an operational plan for D-Day rather than a narrative. Obama doesn’t know the difference. His supporters know it and don’t care. The latter is scary.
But isn't Newsweek the magazine that was sold a couple of years ago to the Daily Beast for $1, and now only publishes online?
Still, I hope the Ferguson piece is widely quoted.
Newsweek is a liberal magazine. Why shouldn’t they support Romney?
Ouch! That’s going to leave a mark.
The White House story will be...
We’ve asked magazines to please not support us this time around in the interest of fairness.
Ala the sparse event numbers explanation...
It was quite easy to ruffle BO's feathers.Sarah Palin could do it with a twist of her head.
That's why Obama went after her so hard; she was the perfect candidate to push his buttons. It's a shame the McCain campaign muzzled her (because of MSM blow back, IMO).
