Stunning new footage of six police officers gunning down a Michigan man in an intense, five-second burst of 46 shots was made public Friday, setting off fierce reaction from members of a community still grappling with the incident.
"I'm stunned that six human beings would stand in front of one human being and fire 46 shots," victim Milton Hall’s mother, Jewel, told CNN.

It looks like he was walking away. There is no way to justify the shooting.
We’re an irresponsible society when we simply accept official killing as acceptable.
There are many fine men and women in law enforcement. There is also plenty of incompetence.
It is too bad we grow such a paranoid crop of police officers. Perhaps they are thinking of that Utopian retirement they get off the taxpayer's dime and not too much about taking any risk.
And keep in mind that his elevator didn’t go to the top floor.
So let’s say that you’re re-living the movie `Hangover’ and you’ve got a snoot-full and are out on the street with friends, and you’re not breaking any laws but are boisterous.
Or you’re cleaning fish in your backyard with a knife and hard of hearing, like me, and all a neighbor can see over the fence is a flashing knife and blood.
Or you’re depressed because your dog died or you had fight with your wife, so you’re angry and pacing the block.
Or you’re just simple like this guy.
You know you can’t count on the police coming in time if you actually need their help, but they come lickety-split when you’re in no mood to deal with them with pistols drawn and they start barking commands at you and you don’t move fast enough to suit them ... They can shoot you to death? Five cops can empty their magazines into you?
It’s incredible to me to see some here saying, “Oh, yeah .... “.

It’s odd that you mentioned that incident in Times Square.
My third-cousin on Long Island called me a few days ago.
During the conversation, she told me that her teenage grandson was in Times Square that day and witnessed the police shooting of that knife-wielding individual.

This is the kind of event that will get libs wanting the death penalty again in Michigan.

This was flat out murder.
It reminds me of a similar incident in Washington DC a few years ago. There was video of that, too.

I may be a little slow on the uptake, but I wouldn't stand in the street in front of six armed police officers with a lethal weapon and continue to yell at them and threaten to take violent action. I wouldn't ignore their calls to drop my weapon, and the only moves I would make would be to drop it, and assume the position.

And if so that’s exactly what makes your retort inappropriate. Are you going to tell the judge in a court that because he’s never robbed a bank he can’t sit on a bank robbery case?

Maybe the shots that continued to be fired while the subject was on the ground might give that “overkill” issue some legal footing.
The potential distance an average man can travel and function after receiving a fatal wound is 210 feet/ 70 yards in 14 seconds.
The officers had no choice but to shoot. Letting the knife man walk away is not an option and there is no nonlethal force options.
