Stunning new footage of six police officers gunning down a Michigan man in an intense, five-second burst of 46 shots was made public Friday, setting off fierce reaction from members of a community still grappling with the incident.
"I'm stunned that six human beings would stand in front of one human being and fire 46 shots," victim Milton Hall’s mother, Jewel, told CNN.

Good question. And judging from the video, I wonder how many rounds hit him in the back.
I'm pro-cop, but this will not be good. I'm sure Al Sharpton is flying in as we speak.
Apparently the Saginaw PD had tazed someone back in April and the guy died.

My guess is the Tazers were then probably blocked from use pending a review.
Once the police start shooting, how many shots they fire is insignificant. Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight. There is a video on the web somewhere of a similar situation in South America. The cops were too hesitant to shoot and the bad guy managed to cut one or two and actually killed one. Remember the 21 foot rule. A person can cover 21 feet before even an experienced person can draw a gun.
To watch or not to watch is a personal call. The video might be instructive to others. I watched the Daniel Pearl and Nick Berg murders to steel my resolve that the perpetrators of the “religion of peace” were my enemies. The videos were gruesome to be sure but violent death is quite commonplace whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.
Even better as far as racial poverty pimpers are concerned, Barack Obama gets to Zimmerize the whole group. Why would Barack turn the opportunity down? He’s enough of a fool to double and triple down on it.
Looks to me, after a few viewings, like he was walking away. Somebody got itchy and the rest on hearing the first shot let her rip. That’s the problem with groups with guns. The shoot or don’t shoot training cenerios don’t include all your buddies on your right and left shooting.
Nightmare.
The homicide is between 1:45 and 1:50. Leading up to it the victim is belligerent, indecisive and obviously ‘not right’. The police bring out a dog and he freaks. It then looks like turns his back and starts to walk away, and they all open up on him simultaneously like at a firing range. Frankly, it looks like they shot him in the back as he was retreating. Film is shot from a distance, so hard to see. Fortunately for the viewer it is too distant to be gruesome, but if this is a ‘justifiable’ use and level of force in the circumstances then we are indeed in a Yankee-doodle Soviet.
I am not sure that general knowledge that the target is ‘assaultive’ is an adequate defense just yet.
Reports: Albuquerque police activist is mother of Milton Hall, homeless man killed in altercation with police
She said witnesses told her that her son walked into a store for coffee and “either forgot to pay for it or made a remark to the clerk,” which is why the clerk called police.
She said he was holding a “plastic knife, like you would get in the convenience store,” according to reports.
Police said Milton Hall was wielding a 3-inch folding knife.
Several sites, including the Albuquerque Journal and SFGate.com, refer to Jewel Hall as an Albuquerque police critic because she has been pushing for a federal probe of the Albuquerque Police Department over 24 officer-involved shootings since 2010.
Maybe one of the cops though he/she could shoot the knife from his hand but failed to notify the other officers of the plan.
With tasers this fellow might theoretically have died... without tasers he was guaranteed Swiss Cheese. What to do, what to do? Liberals hoist on their own petard.
There was no life or death situation. There were, however, 6 guns against 1 knife. They either panicked or just simply wanted to fill him full of lead. It tells me there were no cool heads there. It’s ok, until it happens to one of us.

That video does not make the officers look very good. There did not look to be a threat that warranted that reaction. A taser was surely indicated, or why did they not use the dog as they had threatened? Shooting has come to be the first alternative now. He was likely shot because he did not obey commands, regardless of any perceived danger. When an officer knows that all he has to do to clear himself of a uniformed killing is to say, “I felt threatened,” he is much more likely to shoot a suspect or a perp just because it is easier than other methods.
No tasers (though perhaps per spktyr, maybe that was simply not allowed) and group shooting the knifist in the back.
Yup (and I didn’t want to look, I am not a voyeur of slayings) this is going to be pretty. Barack Obama now has a fairly plausible case of “police acted stupidly” to toss out in his campaign. Get waffling civil libertarians back to his side.
Hope the guy who filmed that makes it to court to testify.....
Even conking him cold over the head from behind would have been far superior to what seemed to have transpired.
