Hundreds gathered in Marshall Park in uptown Charlotte Saturday morning to pray for the city in light of the upcoming Democratic National Convention.
The Rev. Robbin Black, an associate pastor of Abundant Life Church International, on West 32nd Street in Charlotte, said she organized the citywide prayer to help protect Charlotte as people from around the world attend the convention.
In a couple of weeks, the worlds eyes will be looking at Charlotte, Black said to the crowd. But more importantly, God will be looking at Charlotte. Will he find faith in Charlotte?
Supporters cheered Blacks opening speech as a band kicked in and a choir began to belt worship songs. Dancers dressed in white and gold robes and carrying brightly colored flags lined up beside the chorus.

During a RAT convention? Well, that ain't gonna fly.
At least prayer for the safety of the people of that city at least.
A prayer that the people of that city are kept safe from the Democrats, their camp followers and the scum that they attract.
There used to be a lot of Cghristians doing street ministry at the DNC cxonventions...
We went to Atlanta in 19888 and there were more than 1,000 Christians there...
Bill Brights students and other big Chrsitian groups camew thyat year...
Several churches in Atlanta had got together and it was a great week..
Most of the DNC delegaqtes were families dressed in their Sunday best and were polite and nics...
We had a rally on the State House stepps with te Lt Gov and gay reporters and others took photos and were polite..
They were fascinated by our Christian TShirts...
In 1992 when we went to NYC there were only a handful of Christians outside Madison Square Gardens and no organization so we only stayed a couple of days...
The delegates this time were more liberal and militant...few families amongst them...
It was untortunate that the NYC churches had not organized a head of time...
Hopefully in Charlote this time the Christians will have a successful crusade for souls...
My granddaughter just moved to Charlotte. She is an RN trauma specialist. Actually, she was on duty in Denver when the victims from the “Batman” shooter arrived at Swedish Hospital. Said that at their hospital in Charlotte, they are already making preparations for the convention.
Well that protest by the OWS of Charlotte is not going to be a picnic..
for starters..
I hope and pray your sweet granddaughter is safe during that week...
I have visited Charlotte a couple of times years ago when we used to live in SC and go to PTL which was down the road from Carowinds ...
PTL was about 3 hours from my house and we would go for the day...
I dont remember much about Charlotte other than its an unusual place to hold a DNC convention...
Jesse Helms was a hero of mine a real Conservative...

There is no longer a “RAT” party. What was the “RAT” party is now an organized group of Utopians who have Nationalist Socialist thugs in charge. Thats right, fascists.
You bet Charlotte should pray, and pray also for the utter destruction of the nefarious nationalist socialist movement which now occupies the White House.
Chick Fil A proved there are more of us than there are of them.
It’ll be a real freak show. The dinosaur media won’t film them, but we’ll get a real good glimpse via the new media.
Enjoy the show.
Pray for the evil descending upon the city of Charlotte like a plague of locusts.
Thank-you for your message! :)=^..^=
Got to pray for those who are not only are going to both conventions, but also for those covering as well for the residents of both Charlotte and Tampa. This convention season may be a bit crazy, with crazies who want to come and cause possible trouble.
Well, considering the democrat platform, the only true believers may be the news reporters . . .on the other hand.
