Sen. John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential candidate on Friday charged that critics are trying to "swiftboat" President Obama with false and "ridiculous" claims and that Mitt Romney is a foreign policy rookie who embarrassed himself during a recent trip to London.
In a letter to Obama's supporters, he railed on the charges Obama has been hit with, including those from the so-called "birthers."
The attacks, he said, "remind me all too well of the notorious 'Swift Boat' attacks I faced in the 2004 campaign." He was referencing devastating charges from fellow Vietnam War veterans questioning his service.
In the note, he also slapped Romney for being a foreign policy novice and potential presidential disaster. "Republicans have a candidate with absolutely no foreign policy experience, who thinks Russia is our 'number one geo-political foe' and who is advised by people who think -- and have repeatedly said -- the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia are countries that still exist. Romney's two major foreign policy speeches never even mentioned Al Qaeda once, and he's prone to stumbles when he steps onto the foreign policy stage. He can't even manage to visit London without causing an international incident!"

It’s really horrible that we can’t somehow get more Dems to consider the implications, but then there are all kinds of symbols they view as “evil”. Something like this only matters to people who have respect for the flag, others ridicule us for caring at all...

to a democrat, “swiftboating” = someone telling the truth about you and since it’s the truth, you have no defense except attacking them with lies but not disagreeing with the facts that make you look bad, because they’re true.

She whispered that to her bastard husband during the flag-folding ceremony at Ground Zero for the 9/11 anniversary. Bag pipes, drum corps, the whole she-bang.... and President Bush was standing right next to her. Of course, Snopes went out of their way to contact the deaf school and came up with “alternative” lip-readings, which included “Look how pretty they fold that flag” and “You brave this for a flag?” But look at her facial expression and how she shakes her head after she says it. Which do you think is right?
He was there for three whole months, and deliberately ran a boat aground and everything.
Obama doesn’t “embarrass” America on foreign policy; he sabotages America and has lots of experience doing it.
He was a Navy Seal. Tom Clancy wrote a book about his escapades, Without Remorse. Only his new identity is not John Clark. This puts paid to all the birther claims./sarc

I had ‘forgotten’ that line and mode of attack about the ones in the Military were stupid and couldn’t get a job.
Actually, he should have directed to those of his ilk, pols and SOB’s....
There is so much about JF’nK to hate (well dislike) starting with his (supposedly) tossing his Ribbons over the fence (which miraculously ended up in his Senate Office) and claiming WE VN VETS were ALL baby killers because he personally observed it. (He should have been apprehended and charged at that time because it meant he observed and did nothing),
“They” don’t get it...as long as MA wants to send him to DC not much any of us in the other 49 (or is it 56) states can do about it. So, yes, we kind of sat back and said nothing.
When he ‘damned’ us for all those years and then, when he wants to run for President, claim to be 1 of us (again) and expect our undying, unquestioned support, he gets ticked when ‘us dogs’ jumped up and bit him in the ass.
That is what prompted my bumper sticker.
A decent man would have taken his defeat with grace and tried to keep a semblance of honor but these slugs have absolutely NO SHAME.
I give JF’nK a thumbs up for he did serve and he was in ‘Harms Way’ but to exploit and lie about those that served with him and under him - for nothing more than his own personal gain - makes him just another large pile of horse apples.
