A good man Ryan is already being corrupted by Romney.

Ryan: "Do you think raiding Medicare to pay for Obamacare is an achievement? Why don't we just get rid of Obamacare all together?" Ryan said at a rally in Springfield, Virginia, on Friday.

So Romney has so corrupted Ryan that he's stumping for repealing Obamacare? Throw me in THAT briar patch.

I don't think Romney chose Ryan because he approves of his policies--I think it was a desperation move, and I doubt whether Ryan will be allowed to influence Romney much if he is elected.

Nevertheless, I certainly don't trust Reuters not to put up a misleading--or a lying--headline. Indeed, the headline seems to be contradicted by a quote not too far down in the article:

"Do you think raiding Medicare to pay for Obamacare is an achievement? Why don't we just get rid of Obamacare all together?" Ryan said at a rally in Springfield, Virginia, on Friday.

I still cannot support Romney. But I'd say that that quote pretty well destroys Reuter's claim.

Lets see if I get this; Ryan was announced last Saturday, he’s been filling venues where ever he goes, he just appeared with his mother in Florida, but now he’s “downplaying” his signature issue? All in one week?

Dude, sorry if I’m not wetting myself in despair over a Reuters article authored by Andrew Sullivan! These guys wish this were the case. Please get a grip.

That is a stupid analysis of the article. They are already winning the Medicare argument, the dems are on the defensive .

Oh please. People are believing an article written by the MSM? Paul Ryan has been talking about Medicare everyday. Mitt says his plan is nearly identical to Ryan’s too.

This article is typical MSM BS.

Ryan is now marginalized by hitching himself to that lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal Romney.

It’s only going to get worse.

This supposed conservative savior, it going to come out of this experience compromised beyond belief.

The REAL problem is that the ‘rats have pulled a switcheroo on us and we apparently are falling for it. Ryan is the VP candidate. Whatever his plan was or wasn’t is history. What the people are going to be examining and voting for or against is ROMNEY’S PLAN! But he hasn’t clearly presented IT yet. He probably WON’T until after the convention. So there isn’t much Ryan CAN say for a few weeks. Sure, the ‘rats and their lapdog media will still keep harping on Ryan’s former plan. But that is ancient history. Rehashing that plan makes as much sense as debating the wisdom of Pickett’s Charge.

So long as you want to believe what you read from Reuters. What Ryan has actually said is a whole other story.

Ryan downplays his signature issue on campaign trail

Translation of liberal media headline : "That Damn Ryan Insists On Focusing On Economy, We Must Therefore Attempt To Distract Readers From Obama's Economic Achilles Heel By Drawing Conversation to Medicaid"

Tha fact is, Ryan's signature issue isn't Medicaid. If anything it is life. For the purposes of defeating Obama the most effective issue is going to have to be the economy. The press desperately wants to shift the focus off the economy and these leftists see some hope of success if they can get it onto Medicaid where they can scare seniors.

I did not know until this article that Medicare reform is his signature reform. Isn’t it the budget and deficits in general? IS Reuters trying to drive a wedge between Ryan and his supporters? /half rhetorically

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Al-Reuters is mad because Obama lost the exchange over Mediscare, and they want Ryan to keep talking about it so they can paint him as being obsessed with it. Transparent.

Geez - you anti-Romney folks really can't help yourselves can you? Reuters spins a story and you are eager to bite and swallow it down because it gives you an opportunity to hack and flail at Romney.

You treat Ryan like the Left treats minorities - like a hapless idiot with your assertion that he is "being corrupted" by Romney. You ignore what reuters ignored - the government put these people in the position of dependence on Medicare and it would be criminal to stop funding it in toto all at once. They need 9morally and ethically) to spend what it takes to take care of the elderly that have no other options - they also need to change it for future generations, which they have stated intent to do. If you wish to slam Romney - why not try an exercise: compare what you say about him with the same areas about Obama - be honest, and then make a rational decision instead of rationalizing the tripe.

Why do I believe that if you respond at all, it will be a raving rant with a bunch of Romney only, or superficial comparisons instead of a cogent rebuttal????

Reuters is full of crap.

Ryan will blow the lid off Obamas scheme of socialized medicine for senior citizens today at The Villages in Florida, actually very soon I hear.

I think this speech will make some interesting news today.
