More than 1.7 million illegal immigrants could become eligible for tentative legal status Wednesday when President Obamas non-deportation policy goes into effect, and after initial fears that the program would backfire, immigrant advocates are urging young immigrants to sign up.
Activists say the policy is the biggest change on immigration in decades, and it has roiled the political landscape, solidifying Mr. Obamas support among Hispanics and leaving presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney struggling to say what he would do.
On Tuesday, the Obama administration laid out final details, including relaxed education standards that set a low bar.
Under the rules, illegal immigrants in job training or who have enrolled in a GED course are eligible a lesser requirement than obtaining a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
The government begins taking applications Wednesday, and immigrant rights groups and members of Congress from both parties have scheduled legal clinics across the country to help determine whether immigrants qualify and to aid them in filling out the forms

Just a coincidence, of course.
” illegal immigrants in job training or who have enrolled in a GED course are eligible”
If you are an illegal immigrant who is under 30 and is in some kind of training then we welcome you with open arms! Obama applies this to what 2M of these types of folks and is considered a hero. While Bush is derided for not finding 20 specific illegal immigrants that were taking vocational training at flight schools.
The libtards are a clear danger to America!
” Paging John Boehner, paging John Boehner!”
Not now! Can’t you see the man is busy hiding under his desk?
” BUT, they are taking 1.2 million jobs away from Americans”
Under obama.....what jobs? What they are taking away are taxpayer dollars through welfare and other social programs.
Why ARE WE WORKING AND PAYING TAXES TO GET F*CKED LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!
What is the current law and doesn’t the Executive branch have to abide by it?
If members of the executive choose to openly encourage activities that run counter to existing law, aren’t they all indictable?
Can anybody cite the actual law ... I would love to bring this to a conservative federal judge that lives in our town and ask her what could be done to convene a grand jury.
We need to hold these D*CKHEADS accountable.
I HATE THIS SH*T!!!!
Romney can do this: “When I’m elected, if you’ve been in prison more than ten years, have a good record, pledge to go school and not commit crimes, I’ll release you.”
It’s really about the equivalent of what Owebama is doing.
What is really bad is that there appears to be NO downside for Obama in doing this, Romney doesn't want to ‘offend’ Hispanics now that he won the primary.
As time goes on if any of these people commit crimes it could backfire on Obama, that is why he did it now instead of a year ago :to maximize the positive and minimize the negative. By the time that happens the election will probably be over.
You know they are, if not at some point during the process they will be registered then they give the applicant registrations for the parents at home. So upsetting.
Boehner won’t do anything unless Romney and/or the GOP-e tell him to do it. RINOs are ruling the roost right now.
We have two political parties that want the illegals to be made legal. There is not enough incentive for Congress to stop Obama, if they won’t even act for their own personal political preservation. And just like he did with the subject of eating at Chick-fil-a, the presumptive party leader remains silent.
Once he has their votes, he'll have more slaves to add to the plantation.
And he'll have Hispanic and black fighting one another like he's tried to do with whites and blacks.

FREEDOM OR FREE STUFF
YOU GET ONE CHOICE
CHOOSE WISELY
It would see to me that since this was done by executive orders that Romney’s hand will not be tied after January and will have a nice data base to work with. Ooops—Romney loves ILLEGALS, too.
Our local tv evening news on Monday did a segment on and showing illegals registering for amnesty. Imagine that, just in time for November elections.
I dont mean to disparage your optimism but do we really have a choice? It seems to me that it doesnt much matter whos in the White House. Reagan did it, Bush tried too, and now Obomination is just backdooring it. The rats in government just seem to have a way of getting whatever the heck they want citizens be dammed.
I think because they know (or assume) most Americans are against this.
“The consulates are probably registering them to vote too.”
Winner, winner chicken dinner!
Spose the kenyan will simply decree citizenship for all illegals who have signed up for his amnesty in time for the election? I won’t be even a tad surprised when it happens and I bet the Republicans will scream “UNFAIR” and won’t do anything useful about it. Of course the addition to the voting rolls won’t be as serious to the vote as it might appear because many of these illegals have been voting already,
Imagine, another 4 years of Obama.
Imagine, Pelosi as Speaker of the House, again.
Imagine, our country as we know it completely destroyed, from within.
Imagine, you have lost everything, and there is no longer a way to get any of it back.
Imagine, democrat rule for the rest of your life.
Remember, we now have the most ignorant electorate in the history of American elections. I believe we have the most corrupt government and media our country has ever seen.
Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again. ~ Ronald Reagan, from his first inaugural speech as governor of California, January 5, 1967
Ronald Reagans warning about losing our freedoms echoes down through a generation of lost momentum and squandered opportunity.
