David Axelrod, President Obama’s top strategist, believes that the reaction to Vice President Joe Biden’s comment that Romney will “put y’all back in chains” if he is elected.
“Enough phony outrage from Team Mitt, while they pour millions into ads that blatantly, brazenly lie about POTUS record on welfare to work,” Axelrod tweeted.
Biden, recalling that Romney wants to “unchain Wall Street,” predicted that such a policy would “put y’all back in chains” during an event in Danville, Va., which has a 48 percent African-American population.
The Romney campaign condemned the comment. “After weeks of slanderous and baseless accusations leveled against Governor Romney, the Obama Campaign has reached a new low,” Romney campaign press secretary Andrea Saul said today. “The comments made by the Vice President of the United States are not acceptable in our political discourse and demonstrate yet again that the Obama Campaign will say and do anything to win this election. President Obama should tell the American people whether he agrees with Joe Biden’s comments.”

Romney’s response team is on the ball. And it puts Obama on the defensive.
ABC News tonight spent more time on Biden’s comments than it did on Obama in OH. And they had a very fair spot about Ryan’s Medicare plan which stressed that the plan would not affect anyone over age 55 and that each person eventually would have an average of $15,000 to purchase health insurance in the private market or stay enrolled in the current Medicare system.

Biden's comment is outright race baiting. It could even be construed as a hate crime if a Republican had said it. If it came from Paul Ryan, there would be riots in the streets demanding he be off the ticket and Romney with him for making such a bad choice.
Biden's comment reminded me of the desperate Al Gore racing across the country claiming Republicans wanted to make blacks 3/5th of a person again while Stevie Wonder played piano.
Don’t think I heard ANY outrage from Romney. Just a matter of fact, measured statement making a valid point.
