Police in Thailand say that they will charge a member of the Thai parliament with causing death by negligence for accidentally shooting his secretary dead with a submachine gun.
They say that the accident happened in a restaurant on Sunday night.
Senator Boonsong Kowawisarat took out a 9mm Uzi submachine gun while waiting for food, the Bangkok Post reported.
He told police the gun accidentally discharged and his secretary was shot in the stomach.

This is why we don't bring guns to dinner, people!
It was just one of those things:
He asked for her opinion of Shinawatra, and she thought he said Sinatra.
Things went downhill from there ...

1. Just how bad was the service or food that the Thai Prime Minister felt it appropriate to pull out a gun?
2. Anyone remember that Thailand complained about rowdy American servicemen during the Vietnam conflict. I don’t think any of them did anything like this.
3. I apologize for all the bad things I thought about the fitness of the sub commander, who knocked up his mistress and then faked his death to get rid of her. This is much worse.

“I always take a submachine gun to the restaurant.”
Probably not a bad precaution, sadly enough.

If they brought me what they brought the guy in this Thai movie, I'd shoot someone too.

“I always take a submachine gun to the restaurant. Must have been some bad food! “

In some places submachine guns are carried for personal protection. I know a guy who sat down at a lunch meeting at an outdoor cafe in Israel and was unhappy when his three lunch guests put their Uzis on the table facing in his general direction. Apparently they were a bit uncomfortable under their sports jackets.
He asked if they minded if he changed seats, which caused a round of laughter and a re-arrangement of the firearms.

If he didn’t want his secretary any more, couldn’t he have driven her off a bridge, like they used to do in Massachusetts?

Moral of the story- don’t play with your submachine gun while eating red curry.

Outstanding...seems like only yesterday or so that I have had similar conversations....
Lady from Tokyo was visiting NYC and the hotel told her the bank had a better exchange rate for her yen.
First time she went in the rate was 75-1, 2nd time 80-1, 3rd time 70-1.

An Uzi???? WOW...that's unique. Usually in Thailand when someone ‘accidentally’ dies it's because they were on a helicopter that, for unknown reasons, crashed.
