With one exception: DREAM Teams.Professionals in the Olympics is rubbish. USA playing basketball against third world countries is as compelling as watching fat people eat spaghetti.
[The best olympics for 30 years.]
I might agree with you if the Mayor of London hadn’t politicized it from the beginning. My other issue is the wrong network got the rights to broadcast it.
If NBC were the only network to broadcast the second coming, I wouldn’t watch it.
the oppening and closings were sloppy and disheveled.
It came across as a slapped together at the last minute deal.
Back in the day, pros were competing against our amateurs. And I think you’ll also find that today, a lot of the foreign B-Ball players play in the NBA.
GAY ZOMBIES ATTACK!
Freddie Mercury - GHEY !
Davide Bowie - GHEY !
George Michael - GHEY !
Annie Lennox - ????
(who else did I miss?)
During the Beatles “I am the Walrus”, the line “You’ve been a naughty girl, you let your knickers down” and a man dressed up as girl drops underpants. - GHEY !
Pink lights around center stage most of the time - GHEY !
Rainbow colors around the edge of the Olympic Flag that the London mayor passed to the Rio De Janiero mayor - GHEY !
What are they going to do in 2016, put a giant multi-color sheet over the Christ statue over-looking Rio?
John Lennon’s “Imagine there’s no heaven” - Godless.
How appropriate this was the “XXX” GHEYmes.
At least they did play a lot of good 80s stuff, and kept the rap to a minimum.
But that “Jessie J” who mangled “We Will Rock You” has to go.
Bowie was just pretending to be gay, because back then that was considered “pushing the envelope”, once it wasn’t anymore, he pretty much confessed the gay thing was an act.
Worse, NBC cut out Ray Davies singing “Waterloo Sunset”. Probably the best songwriter of them all.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
k. then I will walk that one back.
Also, when Freddie Mercury was on the screen doing his “aaaa-oooo” thing, my first thought was OWS “MIC CHECK”.
Brian May is a great guitarist and all, but what’s with the hair? He looked like Phil Spector at his trial.
The link goes to a Clinton town hall meeting with Herman Cain.
While beauty is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder, I would say that among female vocalists with beautiful, silky smooth voices Joan Baez is among those at the top. I couldn't disagree more with her politics, but her singing voice is amazing.
yep good point
I saw that. Sorry about. I posted the correct link down thread.
