Okay, so why are we playing around with voter ID laws that will make it difficult for some seniors to vote? I know my elder relative is a lifelong conservative and she does not have the proper form of ID to vote now. Luckily she has someone, me to take her to get the proper ones, but what about those who don’t have anyone, and WANT to vote against Obama?

Okay, so why are we playing around with voter ID laws that will make it difficult for some seniors to vote? I know my elder relative is a lifelong conservativeLIBERAL and she does not have the proper form of ID to vote now. Luckily she has someone, me Jesse Jackson, to take her to get the proper ones, but what about those who don’t have anyone, and WANT to vote FOR Obama?

Just changing a few words changes the whole argument. Liberals WANT loose voter ID laws, precisely because it aids in voter fraud.

You said "so why are we playing around with voter ID laws that will make it difficult for some seniors to vote?"

Voting is a right and a RESPONSIBILITY. Some things in life are just a little bit difficult. For those who truely care about this country, getting proper voter ID shouldn't be considered THAT difficult.

On the other hand, those who EXPECT OTHERS to take care of their every WANT and NEED, view any and every slight inconvenience as "difficult". It's those that liberals prey on. Either to vote for them, or to FAIL at their rights and responsibilities, thus making it easier to commit voter fraud.

So....Who do you want voting? Somebody who's WILLING to go through the "difficulty" of getting proper ID, or someone who THINKS its "too difficult" to get proper ID, and that voting should be easier than getting a welfare check?

I've never met the senior who couldn't figure out how to get a voter ID.

Reminds me of the story about the Texas woman (liberal) who flew to Washington DC to testify that it was too difficult for her to find a place to get an ID in her Texas home town. The only people stupid enough to believe that a woman who was smart enough fly to Washington to testify was too stupid to find a DMV office was the press. They actually bought it until they noticed thousands of people rolling on the floor laughing at them...

I'm a senior - I know seniors - and the story about seniors not being able to get a voter ID is a lie. Dems go out to nursing homes and sign up people who can't talk or remember their names -they do it because when democrats commit voter fraud they VOTE THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T SHOW UP. The 'dead' are voted as an accidental byproduct of the way dems cheat.

In the old days dem 'poll workers' would take a stack of punch cards ( of the people who didn't show up) and put an ice pick over the chad area they wanted punched and hit it with a hammer. A few hundred chads would drop out - and those folks - people who stayed home for whatever reason - would be counted as votes for democrats.

I'm sure the New York Times will be able (with the 'help' of the DNC) to find some seniors to interview who can't figure out a way to get an photo ID, and 'salt of the earth' types etc... but it'll essentially be a lie...

Here's where you and I come in. I want to contact Tea Party organizations, 912 Patriots groups, Freedomworks and Americans for Prosperity, and get them involved in something VERY IMPORTANT, and I hope you will do the same. It will be up to us to make sure seniors are registered to vote, that they get the transportation to the polls, that they have a flyer in their hand with the talking points on who Paul Ryan is, what he stands for, his policies as it pertains to Medicare, and the removal of obomacare. Ryan is solid, likeable and articulate..and he has a sound fiscal budget and a plan of action...he's an excellent choice.

The conservative organizations I've listed above have to start working on issues..and not just rallies. We need to organize a grid within our neighborhoods and contact seniors to inform them and offer them assistance and a handbill with the facts about what Paul Ryan can do for seniors...there are seniors living in independent apartments, assisted living, single family homes, and they need to be contacted. There are seniors living in independent living apartments with secure entry provisions, making it impossible to go door to door to instruct and inform seniors. It will be up to the seniors living in the above mentioned facilities to make contact with their neighbors and pass the information on. I encourage everyone to contact your local Tea Party group, 912 Project group, Freedomworks and Americans for Prosperity groups and tell them we need their help to reach an important group of voters who need our help, and we certainly needs theirs as well...this country needs their help, many of these seniors are veterans...survivors of the “greatest generation”

What do you say folks...let's give these folks our help...is this doable?

Right, your senior has no ID on which to base her Medicare card. She can make it in to get her benefits and see the doctgor, but can’t make it over to DMV to register and get a state ID. What ever happened to requesting an absentee ballot. Harry Reid said that the best lifeline for those abandoned seniors is their junk mail.

This is TOTAL BS and it needs exposure.

are you serious?

She is elderly but can;t get the proper ID, what on earth has she been doing for her life, ow does she get around, how does she get her benefits?

Sorry if you are serious and not a troll but that post of yours is what the elft state but I’ll also answer your question.

Why are we playing with voter ID laws.

Well it;s to stop illegals, dead people and those wanting to vote more than once.
Only the Dems want no ID but they demand ID for Amtrak, to fly, to get beer, cigs, etc

If someone has no one and lets say they have gone through life never having to show a photo ID which is impossible today then take her to the DMV and get the ID, simple isn’;t it.

WOW.. just WOW!! A... er.... ah... Do you want to rethink that BS.. I'll wait..

We seniors have to pull out ID's almost every time we leave the house.. Medicine, wrote or cashed a Check, Travel, any Gov office for Social Security, Medicare.. or ever bought a drink, a bottle of beer, liquor, a pack of cigarette, cigar, pipe, prescribed pills, used a credit card with cash back..etc (rolling eyes)

He or she, has never had a hospital visit, driven an auto, or visited a relative in another state, by any other method than your overwhelming/sacrificial/humanitarian, volunteerism??

I think I'd love to know a bit more about your relatives' advanced age, 110+, and your unique generosity to our cause, and pearl clutching, advice..

Maybe we should watch out for all of these people that are still living in cages, and caves, OR, maybe we should just watch out for lurkers.. Hummmmm?.. jus sayin

So does your relative live in New Jersey like you do?

I believe that NJ requires an ID only if voters didn't present one when registering. Has your relative never voted before?
