Carl Cameron saying VP announced in morning at 9 am. He is saying it sounds like Paul Ryan
Ryan is a good pick because he has a plan for economic recovery for the US that he has been pressing for.
The dems and Obama have already refuted it.
Game on.
The election IS about Obama. Ryan can quote chapter and verse of what Obama has done wrong to get us in this position and Ryan has the plan to get us out. Every second spent by the dems and Obama trying to denounce it, puts the subject back on Obama.
Therefore the election NOW turns from Fluke to Nuts (like Liz Warren etc) to THE ECONOMY and Obama’s record, or IOW, Obama.
Ryan is a smart man, he can handle the media..they will trash him if he’s the pick starting tomorrow. Id vote for Scooby doo and Scrappy Doo if it meant getting rid of Obama. Have to look at the big picture, its either Obama loses or kiss America goodbye. I refuse to live under Communist rule, I just refuse to do it..I think if Romney does pick Ryan it’s to help bring together the Conservative vote. Id be pleased with a Ryan pick, he seems like a good guy and very likable. At the end, this is ALL about getting rid of Obama, before its really too late
The hard cold reality is that other than as a source of fundraising most of the South is irrelevant to both candidates. It's the nature of the Electoral College system. With a few exceptions they're not competitive states and it would be tactically silly for Romney to try to do anything for "southerners."
Romney could pick Jesse Jackson Jr. for VP and he'd still win Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama.
He brings fiscal conservatives into play which were to vote for Romeny anyway.
Out in the real world (not the tiny hothouse of Free Republic") self-described "social conservatives" were going to vote for Romney anyway as well.
And there are more fiscal conservatives would would be scared off by a social conservative VP pick than vice-versa (the weird constituency of Mike Huckabee notwithstanding.)
Ryan also would add some youth and humble(r) background to the ticket - his family wasn't poor, but he was a waiter, drove the Weinermobile for a while, etc.
Is that what Nauticus is? Never heard of it.
FYI .. I’ve always been impressed with Ryan’s competence and
thorough knowledge of budget issues/economics/taxes, etc., and I was thrilled to see him take Obama on .. directly ... to his face at the bi-partisan gathering months back. O did not like that, and Ryan did not shrink back at all, God love him.
I truly haven’t heard any negatives about Ryan, and should there be criticisms of which I’m not aware, I’d sure like to know what they are, if anyone would be so kind as to put them out here.
I’m just sick to death of all the wimps on our side, the ‘niceness’ .. the gentlemanliness ..that needs to END. We need take-no-prisoners, tactical warriors and fighters NOW ..before it’s too late.
Agreed .
Good points, but IIRC, old people don’t trust Obama.
no I agree Ryan will bring fiscal conservatives, but what about the swing states of VA and FL?
How about conservatives or fiscal conservatives don’t win an election, I;m here in FL and trust me Ryan is not liked at all even by life long republicans who do work for the GOP.
Sorry but from who I talk to and who I know and my feelings then Ryan does not bring FL or VA into play, nor the elderly, nor the hispanics, nor even most women.
Like you said he brings conservatives, you said it yourself.
Think about this, does he seriously bring FL, no, does he bring VA , mmmm doubt it, we need those states, .
Sadly this election is not just about the economy which the elitist GOP thinks it is, many care about their money and pockets but also care about social issues and many elderly care about cuts.
Not saying he will cut their SS, medicare as obama already has but right now that is how Ryan is looked at.
We have to think and look at this from a state way not just a conservative way

Could be Tanya Harding. I hate when there is speculation. Just say who it is and get it over with.

Obama seems to have a true hatred of Ryan -- so he'd be a great choice just because of that! (The 'rats wanna make this about taxes -- great!
It’s Bob. ;-)
Considering her boxing career, she could be important in swing states.
USS Wisconsin.....Walker would constitute left field would drive the moonbats crazy
Do you know how to spell “does”? LOL
you do know FL and VA are in the south right?
Also many social conservatives are not voting for Romney anyway and this does not help. plus it doe snot help hispanics, old people or even military in VA and VA.
Without FL and VA then kiss this election good bye and you can say how great Ryan was after because it goes with your views.
Me, I’m looking at this as a way to win not my views and we need FL and VA and yea it is the south so if Romney wants ot piss off the south then he looses
Could be Eric Cantor. Eric was in KC today at an event for Lynn Jenkins. He told us he would be campaigning on Saturday with Mitt back home in VA. My guess was originally Ryan. But then why VA. Cantor is a very dynamic guy, very smart able guy.
I think Romney will pick McDonnell, either way, good luck to whoever takes on the role.
In a national campaign I think McDonnell’s master’s thesis would create better Obama attack ads than Ryan’s budget cuts.
