What is the plan for the Gray State Concept Trailer?

This film is an extremely ambitious independent project being shot in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Following the many models of success film has for projects made outside of the Hollywood system, Gray State is seeking the funding it needs before plunging into production.

Gray State was conceived in November of 2010 by David Crowley and Danny Mason. The scale and nature of the material indicated that not only did they have an obligation to craft a human story out of the morass, but they had an obligation to tell it properly, far from the typical financial hangups that have become the convention for independent film. They began the process by first developing the narrative through months of slow revisions, and then in the summer of 2011, forged ahead with shooting a concept trailer.

Many films that have particular visuals or unique plotlines first invest in concept material that can be used as a tool to gather funding from interested parties. Gray State is no different. What WAS different was the unanticipated explosion of interest Gray State gathered from the local film community who participated in the shoot. This buzz spawned throughout the area via word of mouth, steam-rolling into an unprecedented movement of interest that has already reached national attention in some circuits, and this was before the concept trailer was even released.

The filmmakers have barely been able to control the hype, and now, over a year since the shoot, they are finally ready to release the trailer and begin the national campaign to gather the funding they need to push this extremely popular concept into a brilliant and commercially viable feature film.

Thousands of films, even the ones that reach production, never see the light of day through various failings of the filmmakers to market, promote, and distribute the films. Thousands more filmmakers sit on projects that are never even made, having no marketable tools to show that A) their film is a good idea, and B) that they can pull it off. The Gray State team fully intends to harness the amazing capabilities of the MN film community and prove that they can beat Hollywood at its own game - first, through showing a concept trailer.

It’s a good concept trailer.

Do I think that it could come true? The words possible and probable come to mind. Is it possible? Yes , it’s possible. Is it Probable? That’s a tricky one. Under certain circumstance, Yes it’s probable, but only under some really severe ones.

Do I think that the Government would use force on the citizens? Yes, I certainly do, they’ve already done it. Waco comes to mind right off.

Would the citizens fight back? Probably not in the beginning, most people only fight back when there’s nothing left to lose I’ve found. Or if they are highly motivated to save their lives or the lives of their loved ones.

So, let us pray that this sort of scenario never happens. Or most of us who survived will be in a Gulag wishing we had fought back while we still outnumbered the Bureaucrats and their faceless/anonymous minions.

I was thinking, "Where will they get US military members who would do such things?"

They won't need to.

It would be a combination of unmanned drones for the strategic stuff which would only need a hand full of "loyal" soldiers and ChiComs under U.N. command for urban combat.

The Chinese would easily tolerate a one-to-one loss of their soldiers for every American and still have 700 million people left over.

Well you have your red, blue and purple states.

I think we can be pretty sure that governments of the blue states, places like Oregon and Washington where I live, will kneel down to lick the boots of whoever the FedGov tyrant sends in as the appointed regent for our zone.

I don't imagine purple states, lets say Wisconson which currently has a lot of GOPers running it, but a ton of lefty Democratic trash in it - they won't do much better.

So you are left with Dixie, and the Empty Quarter states like North Dakota and Wyoming. And Texas. Might some of them act on a state level? How quickly would the Obama regime take out dissident lawmakers and Governors in places like Wyoming if they didn't like the direction that state was heading.

It's not like 1860 where you can sit safely 600 miles away from DC and calmly plot your secession in open session, with occassional letters informing FedGov what's happening. We live in world of Rapid Response.

So, I don't know. So far the states, even the red states have been gutless. I guess Montana held out on speed limits for a while. I'm not expecting much from any of them, sadly.

FedGov™'s standing army of 500K(and shrinking) isn't going to occupy any single state. Let alone the entire South. That would require an Army of 10 million. Do the math.

Come to think of it, maybe I read a little to much of John Titor but I can see this twist happening. If something like this happens, you still have the rest of the World, especially, Red China, Russia, and even the UK, France and India as nuclear powers. If this scenario happens, the world will think we've gone batsh$% crazy and might launch a limited nuclear strikes to take out our missiles, bomber bases, sub pens and toss in a few major cities as well. I can see Red China and Russia doing this and the rest if they feel threatened joining in.

Now if some of our ICBM's get through to the aggressive powers, we might get hit with a second wave. Yeah, maybe as per the John Titor story, the freedom rebels who mainly call from the rural and suburb area might feel grateful in a weird way by putting down the grey state via "instant sunshine" but still we will have a huge mess to clean up. I think a lot of these scenarios are good but they ignore or give lip service to what the rest of the world will do.

BTW, depending what happens, I can see Canada, Mexico and even Cuba marching forces into our country, maybe a few others like Brazil perhaps, most likely helping the rebels against the batsh&* crazy government or remnants thereof. I can also see a bloc of States seceding too.
