Former Virginia congressman Virgil Goode says voters should turn to a third party if they want real change in the nation.

CHEYENNE -- Voters need to look to a third party if they want to see real change for the country, Constitution Party presidential candidate Virgil Goode says.
A former congressman from Virginia, Goode stopped here Wednesday during a campaign swing through Wyoming.
“If America wants a true grassroots president who will answer the telephone from somebody sitting in this audience … as quick as they would take a call from somebody like Warren Buffett or a heavy hitter from Bain Capital, vote for Virgil Goode,” he told about 20 supporters outside the State Capitol.
“If you want the same that you got now, vote for (Barack) Obama or vote for (Mitt) Romney.”
Goode was nominated as the Constitution Party’s presidential nominee during its convention in April.

A third party needs some roots in the legislature first. The TEA party is moving in that direction. For right now one needs a D or R next to the name on the ballot

Oh, please. Two (maybe three) SCOTUS noms, cementing healthcare and God knows what else GUARANTEED by Obama. A Tea Party influenced House and a few senate seats to take us to 51+ and we roll the dice with Mttens.
I can’t stand to think of hearing the Obamites chanting FOUR MORE YEARS...can you?
I debated Mr. Goode three times in the past week.
Even though he admits them to be unconstitutional, he vociferously supports the centerpiece programs of the New Deal and the Great Society.
Bottom line, he’s still a New Deal Democrat.
And he thinks he can balance the budget on the back of defense.

He’s no Elena Kagan. Don’t know yet - too soon to tell. Lot of pretty smart folks think there was a time bomb in that decision. We’ll see.

I’ll give you my opinion on Roberts’ decision, and I don’t think any of the talking heads got this right.
I think Roberts is a good GOP-e kind of guy that cares more about their establishment guy getting elected than he does about doing what’s right.
He could have killed ObamaTax. Instead, he turfed it to the election, and he did it so the Tea Party conservatives that cut their teeth on opposing this atrocity would be forced to see the election as a final stand to get rid of it.
And. It worked. There’s a lot of conservatives out there that will now vote for Romney as a last chance to get rid of ObamaTax. To quote my wife, Romney wants to “repeal and replace” ObamaTax, “His idea of replacing it is probably almost as scary as the real thing.”
Roberts took one for the GOP-e team. In real terms, they traded an outright win on gutting ObamaTax for your vote in November and a possible loss.
Your vote for the GOP-e guy was more important to them than getting rid of ObamaTax is. Imagine that.
It’s OK. If they lose, their payback to you is now built into the cake.
I think that Goode and the Constitution Party maybe a great alternative some day. Who knows.
But as far as I can tell, there are no Constitution Party members in the Congress or in local office to any great degree. It equates to “Hi, I’m Berdie and I want to run this company..trust me.”
The Libertarian Party has struggled for years and gained some success. The Tea Party will be more successful in a shorter period of time, imho.
Mr. Goode should perhaps run for a national office. Like Senator or Congressman. Maybe he could get a toe hold.
And if I hear FOUR MORE YEARS...my heart will break.
I’ve heard opinions from all over the place, but a bad decision is a bad decision, and this was just plain bad. Sadly, some Republican Presidents have appointed some of the worst people to inhabit the bench (not to say Democrats haven’t, but you’d conversely expect Republican appointees to do right, and yet they simply all can’t be counted upon). Having seen the garbage that Willard put on the bench in MA, whatever he is likely to go with ain’t going to be on the side of strict constructionism.

A vote for Mr. Goode is the same as voting for Obama...no vote is the same as a vote for Obama.
All you Obama supporters here should be proud of your principled stance! I am sure that you will be hiding your opinions about conservatism once Obama is unfettered with a second term...just like the courage you show now that you KNOW will help Obama get four more years to seal the destruction of America.
Some people think they can eat the clean end of a sh*t sandwich, and some of us choose to go with nice, clean, Conservative, Virginia ham on rye instead.
They are not the same, Romney is a conservative who believes in and understands the power of liberty. Obama is a committed communist intent on making the destruction of America permanent (yes, it has already been destroyed).
Your crass post shows that you will never be capable of understanding truth or reality, but perhaps others will be able to and be swayed into doing the right thing this election and voting for Romney and all Republicans this time...we must give them one more shot to do the right thing.
The alternative is unthinkably bad...
Just when I think I’ll be able to enter the booth and vote for Romney, a new day happens and his true, progressive nature shines through.
I’ll most certainly show up to vote down ticket. The top? Don’t know that I’m especially interested in fighting Romney on amnesty, his kinder, gentler version of socialist health care, etc.
This morning, I’m down to Israel being about the only reason I can vote for him. He’ll certainly be better for our historical allies than Obama has been.
