The Environmental Protection Agency is going to require all consumers to buy at least four gallons of gasoline from certain gas pumps after the new E15 ethanol-gasoline blend is introduced into the market. The new regulation was revealed in an Aug. 1 letter to the American Motorcyclist Association, which expressed concern that the vast majority of motorcycles and ATVs in use today arent designed to operate on E15 fuel and residual fuel from a pump that serves multiple blends might harm these tanks. The use of E15 will lower fuel efficiency and possibly cause premature engine failure,

Not only will that crap damage my motorcycle engine, it also puts me in harm's way on a long trip. I like to keep my tank topped up so I have extra reserve in case I get caught in heavy traffic that burns fuel with no forward progress OR if I have to go past a scheduled fuel stop. I only have 5 gallons total capacity. Burning down to less than a gallon when traversing the desert is just suicidal. The EPA assholes are simply way over the top.

Time to end the ethanol MANDATE. But good luck with that, considering our Midwestern Republican Senators.

"Damn communists have destroyed America. If Romney gets elected disband the EPA as it now stands and build a new unit to look into those regulations to eliminate."
Sad to tell you this, but no candidate choice of the politically correct, bipartisan, socialist political/regulator class is going to do anything like that. Those who now control politics, business and academia in our country are steeped in social pathologies and debt. They're all communist, man-hating NIMBYs, who won't allow any domestic competition or private improvements done by their own neighbors.
I'm in a state often applauded by Freepers as being the utmost in conservatism and the most hospitable to new energy development. It's just the opposite. Both Democrats and Republicans (all who are politically active) here are dead set against any new drilling for uranium (exploratory) and natural gas. Same with a nearby city said to be very conservative--just the opposite and running nearly exclusively on government debt, services for government-dependent customers and social pathologies (feminism, fatherlessness, all).
It's likely that the only way to reasonably small government is the debt collapse ahead. I avoid Republicans as much as Democrats. Both spread social diseases, are dependent on big government for incomes and support officious robberies.

I’ve run a dozen pieces of outdoor power equipment on E10 for 20 yrs plus (ethanol has been pervasive in Indiana that long).
I’ve had zero problems except for one WeedEater that I attributed to CHEAP Chinese plastic fuel lines. After they were replaced with some good ones, it’s been fine.
But for those who feel E10 or E15 is a big problem, I’d recommend either:

or
head to your local small airport and get some 100LL

“I like that idea! My motorcycle has a 2.6 gallon tank, so if I pump enough to fill it or top it off will the gas station refuse my money?”
You have to drink the rest.

Ethanol ruins engines. We can still get 100% gas here in OK.
I actually hate traveling out of state and have to gas up with food.

Wow I just had a flashback....

"All citizens will be required to wear clean underwear every day.
Underwear will be worn on the outside, so we can check."
That scene from Bananas was hilarious back in 1971, not so funny now.

You have to drink the rest. No, the govt will set up a "gas bank" and you WILL divert your overage to a storage that will be used for those with EBT cards.

The use of E15 will lower fuel efficiency and possibly cause premature engine failure,
I recall that the Government just raised the CAFE standards on the auto companies for fuel mileage and now they are mandating a fuel blend that is less efficient and will decrease Miles per gallon?
This bunch in the Regime wants it both ways and more. I want them gone so darn bad.
To: The Working Man
The fuel mileage tests are all run on E0 (aka non-ethanol fuel).

We need to push this as soon as the GOP retakes the Senate. There is no way this passes the Senate and all politicians are in election year mode.
Next year we need to beat on the GOP House and Senate to pass this, then beat on Romney to sign it.

I almost think that's not enough. After four years of this bunch I almost agree with De Niro's Al Capone in De Palma's
"The Untouchables"
"I want 'em dead, their families dead, their houses burned to the ground!!!"

I’d rather die free than be a slave forced to buy health insurance, 4 gallons of gas, and who knows what else.
