Not only will that crap damage my motorcycle engine, it also puts me in harm's way on a long trip. I like to keep my tank topped up so I have extra reserve in case I get caught in heavy traffic that burns fuel with no forward progress OR if I have to go past a scheduled fuel stop. I only have 5 gallons total capacity. Burning down to less than a gallon when traversing the desert is just suicidal. The EPA assholes are simply way over the top.

” Burning down to less than a gallon when traversing the desert is just suicidal.”
That goes double for all who live in areas with high snow and brutal blizzards. You must keep your tank full in order to provide heat in case you go into a ditch. In many areas it may take days to get to you and 3 gallons can save your life.
This is nuts, cooked up people who live inside the beltway and have never driven in high blizzard conditions.
These people are nuts.
