Describing the killing of innocent people at a Gurudwara in Wisconsin by a gunman a "horrific incident", the White House today said that Sikhs in the US have been a victim of hate crime in the country since 9/11.
The White House also reiterated the great contribution made by the Sikhs community in the American life.
"It is certainly the case that Sikhs have been targeted in America in the past, since 9/11, because they have been believed to be Muslims, and that has been a tragic event -- I mean, a violent -- whether it's against Sikhs or Muslims, this is clearly horrible and unacceptable," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said in response to a question.
Amid raging debate in the US on the gun control issues, the White House said US President Barack Obama favours "common sense measures" to protect the second amendment rights.
Carney was responding to questions on the protest against American gun control laws in India and the US following yesterday's shoot out at a Wisconsin Gurdwara.
The White House said the tragic incident is being investigated by the FBI and would not comment on the motive of the sole gunman, who has been identified as former army man.
There is no scheduled announcement for the US President, Carney said when asked if Obama would be travelling to the Gurdwara in Wisconsin where the tragic incident happened.
"I have no other foreign leader calls to read out to you at this time," Carney said, when asked if Obama would be speaking to the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.
"The President and the first lady yesterday, and again through me today, expressed their deep condolences to the families of the victims and to the community that was affected," he said.
"And the President noted yesterday, as I am today, the important contribution that Sikhs have made and continue to make to the broader American community. And we need to remember that," he added.
"The specifics of this particular incident are under investigation," he said.
If this regime is willing to kill hundreds, including a few border patrol agents, what makes you think they’re not behind the terrible shootings in Aurora and the Sikhs in Wisconsin?
Yes the similarities between the two make one wonder if they were “sponsored”.
The POTUS has no idea nor does he give a crap what the Sikhs have contributed to society as long as the death of some of them can contribute to the promotion of his reelection.
Mr. Pres__ent, how is Major Nidal Malik Hasan doing these days? That was 2009 wasn’t it?
Look for more of these “sponsored” events between now and Nov. 6th as fodder for more executive order gun grabs, ammo grabs and internet takeover.

Sure, I do care about their contributions. Look at all those...uh...filling stations and news stands. Yeah. That and uh...WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TELEPROMPTER!
The idea is that Obama is worse than most politicians. I firmly believe that. I am not convinced that the vast majority of politicians operate as he does, and I don’t think it serves us well to espouse that mindset to a public that is searching feverishly to convince themselves that criticism of Obama is only about politics.
This guy is evil, not your every day evil either.
when does Obama go to WI. and visit with the folks of the latest shooting??? has he made phone calls??
say what??? Obama not talking to MSM...what seems to be his problem?
Obama refused to visit the Golden Temple when he visited India and I doubt if he’ll visit the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin. The speculation is that he doesn’t want to be seen as a Muslim (although he is one) because the general perception in the US is that Sikhs are Muslims.
You are right about that.
That’s exactly what i have been thinking!
He did make a comment about it possibly being hate crime.
“Amid raging debate in the US on the gun control issues,...”
That debate is settled by our Constitution. Punish evil-doers for their deeds. Leave the rest of us alone.
It strikes me as very strange that both shooters were tied to the U.S. Army Psychological Operations unit. Gurdwara was a psychological operations specialist there 6 years previous, while James Holmes was a neuroscience research assistant at both the National Institute of Health UC-Colorado Anschutz center (as a graduate intern) and the Salk Institute,(as an undergraduate intern) partnered with the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA) while conducting research on the Peak Soldier Performance System. Holmes father, Dr. Robert Holmes, also worked for the neural network company HNC Software and DARPA and likely got his son those gigs.
Another strange detail is that in the Aurora, Colorado shooting several members of psy-ops were killed - Navy Petty Officer John Larimer, Air Force Staff Sargent Jesse Childress and Johnathon Blunk,a navy veteran. There are two divisions of psy-ops in Aurora.
I don’t mean to make light of the situation, but is there such as thing as a “love crime”? Seems to me that all crime is based on hatred.
Not really
Obama is a typical democrat —They are all no Damn good
