President Barack Obama, along with many Democrats, likes to say that, while they may disagree with the GOP on many issues related to national security, they absolutely share their admiration and dedication to members of our armed forces. Obama, in particular, enjoys being seen visiting troops and having photos taken with members of our military. So, why is his campaign and the Democrat party suing to restrict their ability to vote in the upcoming election?
On July 17th, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in OH to strike down part of that state's law governing voting by members of the military. Their suit said that part of the law is "arbitrary" with "no discernible rational basis."
Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election. Members of the military are given three extra days to do so. While the Democrats may see this as "arbitrary" and having "no discernible rational basis," I think it is entirely reasonable given the demands on servicemen and women's time and their obligations to their sworn duty.
The National Defense Committee reports:
[f]or each of the last three years, the Department of Defenses Federal Voting Assistance Program has reported to the President and the Congress that the number one reason for military voter disenfranchisement is inadequate time to successfully vote.

If anyone proposes legislation to combat voter fraud, Democrats will loudly scream that the proposal could "disenfranchise" some voter, somewhere. We must ensure, they argue, that voting is easy and accessible to every single voter. Every voter, that is, except the men and women of our military.
Make no mistake, the Democrat lawsuit is intended to disenfranchise some unknown number of military voters.

It has been said: "Respect cannot be learned, purchased or acquired - it can only be earned
Barack Hussein Obama (just one of many names by which he has identified himself in the past) has not earned our respect--the reasons are legion, and can be readily documented in myriad ways.
[Quick example: How can I respect a "man" who gets a Nobel Peace prize for "future contributions"? How can that fraudulent act possibly be defended as an honor "earned"?]
This phony, evil White Hut occupant thinks the military will vote for Mr. Romney. He wants to make it easy for fraud, but difficult for our military, and they are spending campaign money to do this. Hope all of those who wrote a check to this Marxist-Musli are proud. Nice going Barry-Brack, the liar who identifies himself with a dead man's social security number!
Some commander in chief. How disgraceful. Shame on him.

It’s beyond me why the Joint Chiefs haven’t openly discussed a coup. If there’s ever been a CIC who deserves to be overthrown by the military, it’s this one.
I believe he also wants to cut the military salary in half as well.
Smoke and Mirrors from the Democrat Liars.
I think all the troops who won’t have a chance to vote should go to the White House to vote in person.
Who would lead the coup?
I don’t believe there’s a true conservative amongst them!
We’d be better off if the coup were led by a contingent of NCOs!
Ping.
and yet we allow dead people and illegal aliens to vote.
Ohio is a MUST WIN state for Obama.
I wonder why he feels the need to disengranchise our military voters?
They aren’t going to vote for him?
But, how can this be? The Mostly-gay run media keeps telling me that Obama is the GREATEST COMMANDER IN CHIEF, EVAH!!
Gen. Peter Pace?
From my reading, it was Ohio Republicans who took away the three day extension, and that Obama is trying to correct something that the people were against, but didn’t get a chance to voice in the first place. There is conflicting info being put out, that I’ll have to sort through later. I sincerely hope, that Republicans were not the ones to undermine the military.
Almost everyone I know is asking that question.
Why indeed? They take an oath to defend the Constitution and yet Obama continues to shred it.
....and when honoring Old Glory he renders a crotch salute!
Hmmmm
I meant the NCOs more than anything else. The “brass” have lost their way in the public service miasma and forgot their roots.
I know a couple of USMC Sergeants who would be honored to lead the charge.
You mean the Joint Chiefs that promote diversity and sensitivity training for non-Muslim soldiers after a Muslim officer killed soldiers while shouting Allah Akbar? The last thing you will get among a group of politically-correct ass-kissers is any stand on principle.
I realized the error of my statement after I posted it. Please forgive this oversight.
Yes, Republican lawmakers in Ohio reduced the number of days people can vote early, in-person.
Then the Dems decided to put it on the ballot in November to repeal it.
Republicans then, to avoid having it on the ballot, passed a new bill taking back nearly everything except for the reduced early voting.
Obama's campaign then sued, saying if military gets extra voting days everyone should get it.
That's the easy version of events.
