Ted Cruz, the top appellate lawyer turned tea party favorite, shocked the political establishment Tuesday, grabbing the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate and virtually guaranteeing that hell be Texas first Hispanic senator. He's not Hispanic. He's a Texan. Remember the Alamo!

Some headline writer is going to have to go to re-education camp. That's way too edgy for the Dallas Morning Snooze.
It almost sounds approving, and worse, truthful.

Why label every fricking person as ethnic? Cruz is American. We are all Americans. Stop dividing us into categories based on ethnicity, color, national origin, religion etc. A person is either a patriotic American or he is not. That is all that matters.

"...shocked the political establishment..." I'm sure the GOP-e was only "shocked" that they couldn't muster enough sheeple votes to beat the Tea Party candidate with their usual bag of tricks and truck loads of money.
I think they know their days are numbered, and that we're coming for them. They may have managed to get their boy Romney in play, but the rest belongs to us.

Perry and Palin
The results were a blow to Gov. Rick Perry, who joined several statewide constitutional officers in a strong, late-hour push to rescue Dewhurst. Perry appeared in several ads on Dewhursts behalf. But after Perrys own debacle in the GOP presidential primaries last fall, one independent polling firm found that as a political prize, he was a distant second to Palin, the 2008 vice presidential nominee who worked hard for Cruz.
Rice University political scientist Mark Jones said Palin performed an indispensable service for Cruz. In mid-May, after a pro-Dewhurst super PAC ran TV ads claiming Cruz was against property tax cuts in 2005 and was soft on Chinese ripoffs of U.S. intellectual property, Palin appeared in ads vouching for Cruzs conservatism. She helped inoculate him, Jones said.

Wow, congratulations Ted. If we can surround Romney with a bunch of new Senators even the Nervous Nellies should be calmed.

appeals to voters fed up with Congress inaction on the national debt, now at about 70 percent of U.S. annual economic output.
So does that percentage vary based on whether the author includes privately held government debt? Poof, the trust fund debts are gone!
