Reporters accompanying presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney yelled questions at Romney about his so-called mistakes and gaffes on his foreign trip as the candidate left the Polish Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw today.
The barrage prompted one of Romney's press aides, Rick Gorka, to lose his cool at reporters. Of course, those reporters are making the aide's profanity the story and not their own incredible rudeness.
A transcript of the incident via CNN's Jim Acosta in Warsaw:
CNN: "Governor Romney are you concerned about some of the mishaps of your trip?
NYT: "Governor Romney do you have a statement for the Palestinians?
Washington Post: "What about your gaffes?
NYT: "Governor Romney do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?"
CNN: "Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven't taken but three questions on this trip from the press!
Gorka: "Show some respect"
NYT: "We haven't had another chance to ask a question..."
Gorka: "Kiss my ass. This is a Holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect."
Acosta added: Moments later, Gorka told Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, to "shove it." About a half-hour later, the aide called reporters to apologize.
The news media would be crucified if they treated Barack Obama this way (they never would, of course.) They should be crucified for their infantile, insulting behavior.
This year’s ‘Major League A—hole’ moment. Love it. Make sure we have the same contempt for the media they have for Republicans.
Why apologize ?
yap yap dogs
The Palestinians are an envious and hateful people whose objective is to destroy Israel.
That is why they are poor and underdeveloped.
I would cite the John Wayne movie, if I could remember it.
I saw that this morning and was going to post as well... Thanks Kristinn..
Basically they couldn’t manufacture any so-called gaffes in Israel or Poland. So they scream out “What about your gaffes?”
The clip is then spread to the wires and played on all the nets. So the headline is now: Romney in flare up with press over gaffes. Keeps the meme running.
Set the meme...
Set the meme...
Set the meme...
That’s ALL the US Press cares about.
And you can bet that the Daily Show, Colbert, and Letterman will be pushing/ reinforcing this meme tonite.
I’d say, “When you start reporting Obozo’s, THEN we can talk about mine, turdbrains!”.........
Apology proves Romney’s a wimp.
Read the article (RIF), Romney did not apologize Gorka did.
Amazingly enough Mr “300 Warheads Is Enough”, I am in agreement with you in this instance.
The Palestinians were losers in the past, they are losers today, and they will be losers when future history is written.
‘The Israeli and Palestinian negotiators were at an impasse, and the chief Israeli negotiator said in a moment of frankness “quite honestly, we are unable to trust you, given your history with the Nation of Israel” to which the Palestinian side erupted in indignation “what do you mean?!?”
The Israeli Chief Negotiator said “permit me to cite an example, when Moses was leading our people through the desert for those many years, he happened to find a small oasis of water in which he decided to bathe. He placed his clothes on a nearby bush, and THEN some sneaky Palestinians came up quietly and STOLE his clothing!”
Yassir Arafat himself (who had been observing the proceedings), leaped to his feet shouting “That is a LIE!! There WERE no Palestinians back then!”
The Israeli team began snickering as their chief negotiator said “thank you for conceding that point Mr. Arafat, now as I was saying...”
FoxNews
Romney: It’s all about anything but the economy. It is diversion.
[At least, Romney recognizes it. Now, if he can sidestep these kinds of Claymores. The political landscape is littered with them from here to November.]
Obama: “The Middle East is a problem that has plagued mankind for centuries. So as I stand here, shoulder to shoulder with some of the men who have died trying to serve their country, I am struck at the number of times corpsemen have approached me as I traveled all 57 states, letting them know the private sector is doing just fine. Of course, the private sector didn’t build that ... someone else made that happen.”
Press: (Crickets)..(Crickets)..(Crickets)..(Crickets)..(Crickets)..
Romney (after numerous hard examples): “It looks like London was a little unprepared for the Olympics.”
Press: “Governor Romney are you concerned about some of the mishaps of your trip? Governor Romney do you have a statement for the British? what about your gaffes? Governor Romney do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip? Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven’t taken but three questions on this trip from the press! We haven’t had another chance to ask a question... Your gaffes, sir, we need to ask about your gaffes!”
If you watch NCIS, Gibbs always tells his team that.
My daddy always told me that if you could find the word in the Bible, then it wasn't profanity. Hell, damn and ass all qualify. BFD does not.
oooooooh, we do! And I hope the socialist media goes the way of their revered gray lady the NYT, in the garbage heap of history.
Why not just ignore the likes of CNN? Literally. No interviews, no questions, no invites, no press passes, no discussions, no position papers - nothing. Just pretend they don’t exist.
Its not like being friends with them is going to get more favorable treatment anyway.
