Syracuse -- U.S. Rep. Richard Hanna took his own party to task today, saying the Republican Party is too willing to accommodate its most extreme members.
I have to say that Im frustrated by how much we I mean the Republican Party are willing to give deferential treatment to our extremes in this moment in history, he told The Post-Standard editorial board. Hanna, R-Barneveld, pointed specifically to Michele Bachmann of Minnesota particularly her suggestion that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin be investigated to see if she has ties to Egypts Muslim Brotherhood that would compromise her loyalty. Hanna, a businessman who defeated Democratic incumbent Michael Arcuri two years ago, said his first term in Congress left him sad in a lot of ways because of the growing divisiveness on both sides of the aisle.
We render ourselves incapable of governing when all we do is take severe sides... he said. If all people do is go down there and join a team, and the team is invested in winning and you have something that looks very similar to the shirts and the skins, theres not a lot of value there.
While he blamed the dysfunction on both sides, he said he feels more bitterness coming from the Republican caucus than from the Democrats.
I would say that the friends I have in the Democratic Party I find ... much more congenial a little less anger, he said.

I hope that he is planning an early retirement.
Okay. Let’s hope his district can put on a happy face and dump this pathetic scumbag Hanna.
We need 50% +1 in the House. I am fully comfortable letting losers like this guy get beat. Strengthen the herd.
Does the Republican Party even have a platform any more? Most of them sound pretty much like democrats to me.
By the way, isn’t it funny how there don’t seem to be any Democrats willing to criticize their party’s extremist communist leadership?
What a wimp. Whiny b!tch. Throw him out in two more years.

Barneveld NY is located in a rather sparsely populated rural area that is on the edge of the Adirondack forest.
THIS is exactly why so many of us conservatives have soured on the Republican party. So this jerk gets along better with Democrats and thinks Republicans are a bit too testy? Maybe if he’d pull his head out and look around he’d realize the Democrats are taking this country on the fast road to financial and moral ruin. I’m really sorry we can’t wear smiley faces all the time, Rep. Hanna. I’m so sorry we conservatives have ruined your go along to get along good times in Congress. Geesh! We need to run all of these jokers out of DC on a rail.
Let me guess
Hes strongly endorsed Willard...

Unless you count the ones who have switched to the GOP in the past few years as "criticizing their leadership."
I guess they've found out that quiet logic and reasoning are not going to be productive.
The RINOs feel empowered now. I knew it was coming.
Hanna wants to graduate to a senior member of the House, or possibly the Senate, but he is about to get introduced to the Tea Party, and the end of his dreams.
He’ right. The left of center Republicans seem to run things, while the base gets almost nothing. Oh wait, that’s not what he’s saying.
Happens every 4 years. Like clockwork. After all, where are the conservatives going to go?
Every voter should read the republican platform. If the candidate has any significant odds with it, do not vote for them. However, there are no more than a handful of repubs that are even close to following their own platform.
Which is exactly why the GOP is the useless mess that it is.
A commie Repub complaining about Freedom Loving Repubs.
