Dick Cheney: Picking Sarah Palin for VP Was 'A Mistake'

Dick Cheney has some advice for Mitt Romney on choosing a running mate: Don't pick another Sarah Palin.
In his first interview since receiving a heart transplant in March, Cheney told ABC News, that John McCain's decision to pick Palin as his running mate in 2008 was "a mistake" - one that it is important from Romney not to repeat.
It's subject on which Cheney has some unique experience. He helped Presidents Gerald Ford and George W. Bush lead their vice presidential searches and, of course, served as vice president for eight years. He's also privately offered some advice to both Romney and Beth Myers, who is leading Romney's search for a runningmate, on the process.
Cheney would not comment on what he told Romney and Myers, but he was harsh in his assessment of McCain's decision to pick Palin.
"That one," Cheney said, "I don't think was well handled."
"The test to get on that small list has to be, 'Is this person capable of being president of the United States?'"
Cheney believes Sarah Palin failed that test.
"I like Governor Palin. I've met her. I know her. She - attractive candidate. But based on her background, she'd only been governor for, what, two years. I don't think she passed that test
of being ready to take over. And I think that was a mistake."

I love anything with Christopher Walken in it, Lol.
No, Bloomberg is just another statist Tyrant looking to build his own fiefdom out of the once "Untied" States of America.

How can the GOP win in 2012 when so many people are still stuck on 2008?
Well the people BETTER be thinking about 2008, because the GOP-e is about to nominate the guy who LOST to McCain last time around. Think about that a moment.
Did Republicans ever win an election by rehashing the poor treatment that was given to Dan Quayle years earlier?
Never got the chance to, because Poppy Bush only went through the motions in '92, and refused to take the attack right up into Bill Clinton's fat ugly face when he had the means to do so, and it's true that whole "read my lips no new taxes" crap didn't help either.

What he appears to be saying is dont pick a veep who makes you look like the political hack loser you are, like McCain did. I think you scored a direct hit.

Dick is great patriot and was the best VP ever. But I don't think he realizes that many of us feel like we don't need someone that has experience running the federal government. We need people that can begin to roll the government back towards it's mandated functions. We have a winner. This is a superb post.
Sometimes people like Dick Cheney -- undisputed, undiluted conservatives who still spend their working lives in government -- are sometimes unable to see outside their own world view in terms of how to fix the problems we face.
We don't need a manager, we need a clear-cutting reformer. Mitt Romney is a manager, and arguably a poor one. Sarah Palin would have been a reformer.

There should have been conditions on Dick Cheney getting his heart transplant...Dick, Keep Your Damn Mouth Shut!
So you would rather see Dick Cheney graveyard dead instead of allowing him to obtain a new heart AND exercise his own individual First Amendment rights?
Aren't you the loving soul.

"I believe a good number of us who didnt want Rudy as POTUS thought he was an excellent mayor."I am in that same group. Personally, I believe, after the next election, in which barry loses, Rudy should be made head of DHS.
He was directly in the middle of 9/11, with his own life on the line and I don't think he will EVER forget that.

That is why I ALWAYS, SaveAs the picture to a folder on my Computer, that why if the Links don't work, I can still have them and I can upload them Via, Photobucket or whatever.
Also, I forgot to mention about this in my previous post..
I do the same thing (download the pics, then re^upload to tinypic\photobucket) so I have a permanent copy.. BUT I do it for 2 reasons.
First is like you mentioned about a lost link, and the second is so that I am not sending the FR info to the site I got the pic from (it's not pulling from the original site, so they can't complain and\or change the pic using the same name but a different pic... some of those can be really nasty, especially on a family friendly site like FR).

Yeah, I need to learn how to use Tinypic, because for some reason Photobucket will move REALLY, REALLY SLOWLY after a few clicks on my computer.
Plus you are right, putting it on your own site is a good way to avoid any copyright issues and I have a few Pictures removed because the source wasn't........the best, like ones involved jokes about Batman and Robin for example.

Lol :) WEll, I have had a couple removed from both photobucket AND tinypic (I think the site owners/admin/mods are left leaning.. the pics removed were Obama photoshops I had done), but it hasn’t happened for awhile.. hopefully no one notices the good pics ;)

Ye gawds, he expressed doubt about her being selected as McStain's running mate. He interjected himself in something that he not need to do. About the same class of nonsense that Rove pulled. At least his stupid former boss knows to keep his mouth shut, can't say the same for his momma and spouse.
GHWB begat us Clinton, GWB begat us Obama, not a pattern we want to continue, I should think.

THIS CANNOT BE SAID LONG ENOUGH OR LOUD ENOUGH. THE REPUBLICAN ELITE COULD NOT STOMACH A CONSERVATIVE BEING EVEN CONSIDERED AS THE 2012 REPUBLICAN NOMINEE.
