The problem is that Obama defines "success" as growing the influence and power of government. Which is pretty much the polar opposite of what most of us would define "success" to be.
Quartzsite, Arizona right now is going through a situation where three members of the Town Council were voted out of office, and refused to leave. All kinds of excuses and tap dancing going on. The voters are having to get the courts to remove them one by one. I wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar in D.C.

Know what else strikes me about his rant? Why aren’t the hardhats who actually built the roads up in arms? It’s for darn sure the Gommint wasn’t lifting, hauling, digging, cementing, tarring, painting. And what put those laborers to work? Money. Money collected (or even embezzled) by the government from PRODUCERS. And Obammy has the nerve to condemn venture capital firms..
all that "shucking n jiving" and the shouted response from the audience reminded me of a session at the Rev White's church...
I expected him to come out with "chickens coming home to roost" or worse.
Obama has been on defense on this for a week now. Three ads, by my count. This is the most I have ever seen this team work damage control for a single issue.
He has no patience because he is too intellectually lazy to figure out how to respond to the attacks. He said what he believes — that the rich didn’t build their own businesses. He got called on it and he can’t figure out a way to weasel out of it. So, being the lazy person that he is, he doesn’t have patience to respond in an intelligent way.
“A debate about who’ll step up to support small business”.
In other words, a contest to determine who can make the most promises that’ll never be delivered on. Yeah, they’re real good at that.
