Eagle Scouts return medals over organization’s anti-gay stance

The Boy Scouts of America's stance of not allowing openly gay people to serve as troop leaders or members has inspired several Eagle Scouts to return their hard-earned medals and renounce their membership.

Either way I am glad they returned the medals they did not honestly earn. That was unexpectedly big of them. Few liberals ever give back awards cheat their hands on them.

Although their alleged reasoning for giving them back does stand to be laughed at.

You mentioned the Girl Scouts.

Just to be clear, there is no connection what so ever between the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Both organizations might have had the same sponsoring group, but they are two separate entities. The only other group that the Boy Scouts have aligned with are the American Heritage Girls in 2009. I believe this was the first partnership that the Boy Scouts have ever had.

Nope the Boy-scouts never tolerated practices against the teachings of God, or individuals potently dangerous to kids.

Theses people were either deceiving the Boy scouts of America or they were deceiving themselves either way they did not deserve their medal. They can’t possibly have not known about the position of the Boy Scouts of America. No girls and no openly homosexual scout or scout masters.

What a letter. These Scouts have abandoned their oath and as a result no longer deserve to be called Eagle Scouts.

My son will have his Eagle Court of Honor this fall and will proudly bear the title of Eagle Scout because he knows what it means.

Good riddance from an Eagle Scout who believes there is no place for homosexuals in leadership or the ranks. We had a problem with both in my troop. The assistant scoutmaster is in prison for molesting small children at his wife's child care facility. I heard about the sexual predators among the troop members after I left. One freak was going tent to tent looking for someone to bugger on camp outs.

You made Eagle at age 12? My card is dated April 1972 with Richard Nixon's signature. I was 15. Still riding my bicycle to troop meetings...even as SPL. My dad insisted on earning 42 merit badges...just because 21 was the basic requirement.

I was youngest Eagle Scout ever, then; waiver signed by JFK to allow it, since requirement was 13yrs old. I had 59 or 60 MBs; can’t remember. I still have all my Cub/Scout/Explorer uniforms, MB sash, O of A Vigil sash, God & Country etc.

I still rode my bike, too, or walked to mtgs. Summer camps, NRA competition, winter Klondike Derbys... miss those good years, friends and leaders.
