I was youngest Eagle Scout ever, then; waiver signed by JFK to allow it, since requirement was 13yrs old. I had 59 or 60 MBs; can’t remember. I still have all my Cub/Scout/Explorer uniforms, MB sash, O of A Vigil sash, God & Country etc.
I still rode my bike, too, or walked to mtgs. Summer camps, NRA competition, winter Klondike Derbys... miss those good years, friends and leaders.
“Mines 11/20/63...”
I turned 13 on 12/02/63.
JFK assassinated 11/23/63; LBJ took over immediately afterward on all BSA cards.
Congrats on achieving that "youngest ever" record. I joined Wednesday night before Memorial Day in 1968. The scoutmaster accommodated my desire to go on the troop hike on Saturday by running through the entire Tenderfoot requirements on Thursday morning (Memorial Day). There was no minimum time requirement at that point in time. Second class and a few merit badges were in hand by mid-July at summer camp. First Class the first week of December. It was a good time.
