Three survivors of the Colorado movie-theater massacre escaped with minor wounds, but were left with broken hearts because their heroic boyfriends died saving them.
In final acts of valor, Jon Blunk, Matt McQuinn and Alex Teves used their bodies to shield their girlfriends as accused madman James Holmes turned the Aurora cineplex into a shooting gallery.
Blunks girlfriend, Jansen Young; McQuinns girlfriend, Samantha Yowler; and Teves gal pal Amanda Lindgren made it out of the bloodbath but they would have been killed had it not been for the loves of their lives.
Hes a hero, and hell never be forgotten, a tearful Jansen Young told the Daily News of Blunk. Jon took a bullet for me.
She was too distraught to speak more, but her mother called Blunk, 25, who had two young children from a previous relationship, a gentleman.
He was loving, the kind of guy you want your daughter to be with, and ultimately, shes alive because of this, because he protected her, Shellie Young said.
She said Blunk, a security guard, had served in the Navy and had recently filled out papers to reenlist with a goal of becoming a Navy SEAL. To her, he was a hero anyway because he wanted to serve his country, she said of her daughter, who was left with shrapnel wounds to her side. He said that all the time: I was born to serve my country.

Uh... it has not been proven that he was wearing any actual body armor. Most of the evidence I have seen so far indicates that this was more like a military style vest with pockets for magazine clips. Recommendation: don't be too quick to jump someone else for what may be your own incorrect assumption.
Throwing themselves in the line of fire just showed how little regard they had for the women's independence and how far we have to go before boys learn that life and death decisions are only the providence of women.
If NOW & the Dems were honest, that's what they'd say about these kids.
Sadly, I don't have faith that even a single one of these girls will get it. Sure they'll give lip service to what these young guys did individual but they'll pursue the feminist agenda, talk down about men and teach any future children they may have in that mold while the cowardly baby daddy lives a long, healthy life and gets the girl.
Think about it.
Well, it is well known that there are always tons of wimps. Just watch any cowboy movie.
But few are the heroes. The wimps don't deserve our attention.
What a sick, sad world we have to share.
These men were brave and had Lion hearts. Its drummed into us from birth, men are supposed to stand up for the women. Now, what does one think would happen if this had been a combat situation with men and women on the same side fighting a foe? I shudder to think what the outcome would be with our Western mores.
Yes. What is described as the 'Emergency Exits' are the ones at the front of the theater which are locked from outside access. Many use them to leave the theater as it is sometimes much closer to the parking lot. Some use them to 'sneak' their friends in to a show.
Allegedly he bought a ticket, went in the theater, and then went out the Parking Lot/Emergency Exit. He equipped himself from his car, then re-entered via that same Emergency Exit.
It was reported that he taped over the 'lock'. It has reported that someone let him in. It was reported that there was a phone call involved. May all be rumors, but he did get back in through the one-way Emergency Exit somehow.
I would be remiss, and a bit hypocritical, given my other comments on this thread, if I didn’t THANK YOU for posting this thread.
BTTT.
OK. Put them in a darkened movie theater filled with tear gas, and have them shoot at targets 20 yards away.
“OK. Put them in a darkened movie theater filled with tear gas, and have them shoot at targets 20 yards away. “
____________
...with a frantic crowd screaming all around and ask the target to hold still, and not shoot at you while you take this shot.....
Heroes all, with an automatic pass to heaven...”Greater love has no man than this”
If they had been allowed to die with weapons in their hands, they also would have qualified for Valhalla...but a shield is a weapon, and since they chose to use their bodies as shields, they made a warriors’ choice...not “victims”, they died as warriors.
Both the man that abandoned his woman and the perp would be called Nithings according to old Nordic thinking, not necessarily evil, but empty, soul-less creatures.
But the Bible reminds how devils love
to find a house desolate and uninhabited, and I think they found just that in the shooter.
Peace and glory to the brave.
Renews my faith in American youth. Prayers to everyone touched by this evil.
In the case of Jon Blunk, I'm afraid we do need to make a distinction of how he died vs. how he lived.
I wouldn't want anybody of the next generation to leave their wife & two kids (perhaps it was mutual; no matter)...NOT get a divorce...and then go pick up a relationship with another woman while still technically married.
(Blunk's estranged wife and two kids live in Reno)
The unmarried white couple with 2 kids who went with the kids to the movie. The shooting starts & the boyfriend bolts & leaves the woman to fend for herself with the 2 kids. [Ridesthemiles, post #6]
Meanwhile, the married (to another woman) Blunk with 2 kids who wasn't around for his 2 kids went to the movie without them. The shooting starts & the boyfriend -- whose also a husband -- doesn't bolt & doesn't leave that girlfriend to fend for herself...BUT he does leave the women (his wife in Reno) to fend for herself with the 2 kids
A hero in death; a relational coward in life. Even if he didn't to move out of the home, why wasn't he in Reno to be close to his two kids?
Instead, off he went. And now he's gone from their lives forever.
Let's be realistic; 'some' women gravitate towards these type of men. They always have and always will.
Body armour doesn't stop the impact of the shots, which can and will slow down and disorient the shooter, if not disable him. Once he is hit, he can be hit again. If the gas is to thick, he can be hunted by those who are carrying.
YOU FIGHT BACK.
SEVENTY ONE PEOPLE WERE SHOT.
But that's preferable to fighting back?
Screw you. May God piss on the dirt you stand on, you miserable, crawling cowards.
If ONE PERSON remained unshot because people could shoot back, it would be worth it.
If the whole theater DIED while being armed, and all 400 people were shooting and fighting for their lives when they died, it would be preferable to being shot down like dogs by a maniac.
DAMN you sh*t-pantsed cowards!
The world must be pretty simple when you live in your mom’s basement. Want another Hot Pocket while you play your X-box.....
“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
This reminds me of all the people asking “why didn’t someone rush the gunman”. These 3 men obviously had the courage to rush him, if it not facing a black armor clad assailant in a dark, smoke-filled room full of panicked people. I would say these 3 brave men did what they could in the time they had.
Well what do you expect.. they were ... you know... HONKIES
Sure it does. Haven't you noticed how often even a routine traffic stop these days involves two police cars? It adds up to "officer safety" rules that require "adequate backup" to arrive before entering the fray... even while innocents die.
Unions write those rules. They are the same reason for no knock raids, extra SWAT teams, and the ubiquity of bullet proof vests. Police cite the hazard of their work, but it is a LOT saver to be a cop or a firefighter than a whole array of industrial jobs paying a lot less.
My daughters clasmate, Josh Nowlan was wounded helping his friend protect his girlfriend. He saved her life.
Some kinda scumbag that shoots a little girl. It seems to me that the scumbag was targeting the women
