In the case of Jon Blunk, I'm afraid we do need to make a distinction of how he died vs. how he lived.
I wouldn't want anybody of the next generation to leave their wife & two kids (perhaps it was mutual; no matter)...NOT get a divorce...and then go pick up a relationship with another woman while still technically married.
(Blunk's estranged wife and two kids live in Reno)
The unmarried white couple with 2 kids who went with the kids to the movie. The shooting starts & the boyfriend bolts & leaves the woman to fend for herself with the 2 kids. [Ridesthemiles, post #6]
Meanwhile, the married (to another woman) Blunk with 2 kids who wasn't around for his 2 kids went to the movie without them. The shooting starts & the boyfriend -- whose also a husband -- doesn't bolt & doesn't leave that girlfriend to fend for herself...BUT he does leave the women (his wife in Reno) to fend for herself with the 2 kids
A hero in death; a relational coward in life. Even if he didn't to move out of the home, why wasn't he in Reno to be close to his two kids?
Instead, off he went. And now he's gone from their lives forever.
