Powerful conservative Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., thinks former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin deserves a prime speaking position at the Republican convention.
"I'd love to see Sarah Palin have a big slot as far as speaking because there's no one still in America that excites the base of conservatives and even libertarians as she does, he told Fox News Thursday.
She can draw a crowd more than any other Republican, and I think has more influence in primaries than any other endorsement right now, so I think she'd be good."

Win.
Sarah would Win, PERIOD.
That is why the GOP-e hates her so much, they don't want the responsibility of rolling back big government.
That is also why Romney won't pick her either, because he is the Godfather of Ubamacare, he wants the progressive agenda.
Only he can do it better, cheaper, and with less tyranny.
Mrs. Palin in 2016. Either from within, or from without.
That is what I say, only from Within or from without the GOP, no more Grand Ole Progressives!
Thank you, but we do not get SNL in Panama; therefore, I never saw the skit. I am going from what I see and hear live on TV news.
What does piss up a rope mean?
No one got invites yet. Sarah should just wait and decide later - she already has her plans to go to Tampa anyway.
Sarah doesn’t need them and she is better off without them, IMO. The GOP wants to get some breath from SARAH to survive.
I believe Newt put the bug in the GOP’s ear - ‘you imbeciles, do you want to win or not’! We need her!
Sarah would deliver too much red meat for the chicken(shi!) crowd.
For whatever reason, he detests her.
Well, I can’t imagine why Mittens, a cold, personality-less RINO would have any problem with a locked and loaded true blue Conservative woman who is articulate, pretty and filled with passion for America.
Who guards your bridge when you post?
Que hay?
OH that would be the MIRACLE from Heaven above!
She’s his competition within the party, would be my assumption.
There is NO 'could SARAH do'....She could do what 50 of those ball less creatures would tremble doing.
Now, the audience are the ones who would upstage her over Romney just by Sarah doing what comes NATURALLY.
Good idea.
The fact that it has not been announced that she will speak is a good sign she is still in the race for VP....
;~)
who could unite the party?
who would energize the party?
who has already been vetted by the MSM?
Who do the liberals hate?
It is sacrilege for the Kenyan Usurper to be anywhere near the honorable oval office.
Can someone post the pic of Oblamster disrespectfully talking on the phone with his feet on this desk?
Excuse me, but SARAH isn't a real politician - she is a PATRIOT! It's about AMERICA and not her.
And Sarah doesn't have to improve her credentials - that's the bottom feeder mitt's talking points that mittbots are still repeating. Mitt's credentials are from the pit.
If Sarah had been willing to run for President, I think she would be speaking at the convention, accepting the nomination. It is disappointing that no one worth a crap wants to be our President any more. As a result we are left with what we got. I would have even liked to see Jim DeMint be willing to run for the job.
If for no other reason it drives the libs bonkers and pisses them off when she speaks! Gives them something to stew about for weeks.
“Now, the audience are the ones who would upstage her over Romney just by Sarah doing what comes NATURALLY.”
Yup! Here’s the thing...folks like McCain, Romney, etc. talk about and act on conservative values from time to time. Palin lives them, breathes them, believes in them. They (conservative values) are her meat and drink, the air that she breathes (and not some lines in a speech).
I’m hoping they don’t have the balls to NOT give her a major speaking slot. They might not have the BRAINS to allow her to speak altogether, but I hope the testicular fortitude equation works the other way around; i.e., that TEA partiers threaten to revolt if she’s snubbed.
