(BOWLING GREEN, Ohio) -- Back in May, Mitt Romney was criticized for not immediately rebuking a woman at a town hall who said President Obama “should be tried for treason” with democrats saying he stood “silently” during attacks on the president.
But Wednesday, during a town hall in the battleground state of Ohio, Romney didn’t miss a beat when one woman referred to Obama as a job-killing “monster.”
The woman, who did not identify herself to the crowd more than saying she is an “angry mom,” was telling Romney about her son’s struggling business and said, “He’s had to lay off people and he may have to close some stores and it’s all because of what this monster has done to this country.”
As the crowd laughed and began to applause, Romney jumped in, “That’s not a term I would use.”
Romney later added that the woman had “every right to be angry.”

McCain also didn’t want to hear a disparaging word about Obama during Q&A sessions in 2008. IIRC he rebuked several who tried to tell him the truth about the anointed one.

Romney has done that himself. It is why so many believe his history at Bain, his skills as a businessman, would benefit the U.S. if he were President.
So, Romney can hardly go on record criticizing BHO2 on this issue when he himself has made the decision to kill off a failing business. There were a few of those at Bain.

Romney was my last choice (maybe 2nd last to LRon) in the primary, but is this an example of the intellectual honesty of conservatives?

It’s one of those d*mned if you do, d*mned if you don’t situations. If he hadn’t addressed her characterization of Obama, he would have been criticized. And all he said was, “That isn’t a term I wouldn’t have used.” Or something like that. it was mild.
