Do you really think we are having a sane societal debate on anything homosexuality-related when the typical Americans thinks that 25 percent — yes, 25 percent – of the country is “gay”?! What a frightening testament to the power of homosexualist propaganda in Hollywood and the media.

In 2002, a quarter of those surveyed guessed upwards of a quarter of Americans were gay or lesbian (or “homosexual,” the third option given). By 2011, that misperception had only grown, with more than a third of those surveyed now guessing that more than 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian.
Women and young adults were most likely to provide high estimates, approximating that 30 percent of the population is gay. Overall, “U.S. adults, on average, estimate that 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian,” Gallup found. Only 4 percent of all those surveyed in 2011 and about 8 percent of those surveyed in 2002 correctly guessed that fewer than 5 percent of Americans identify as gay or lesbian.

Contemporary research in a less homophobic environment has counterintuitively resulted in lower estimates rather than higher ones. The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, a gay and lesbian think tank, released a study in April 2011 estimating based on its research that just 1.7 percent of Americans between 18 and 44 identify as gay or lesbian, while another 1.8 percent — predominantly women — identify as bisexual. Far from underestimating the ranks of gay people because of homophobia, these figures included a substantial number of people who remained deeply closeted, such as a quarter of the bisexuals. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey of women between 22 and 44 that questioned more than 13,500 respondents between 2006 and 2008 found very similar numbers: Only 1 percent of the women identified themselves as gay, while 4 percent identified as bisexual."

There is certainly some historical evidence the King Edward II may have been gay. Of couse he was married with children and his wife Isabella and lover Roger Mortimer had him murdered and his son later became Edward III after disposing of Mortimer... and was possibly the most masculine, most bad ass of all English monarchs throughout history... so who knows if Edward II was really gay or if it was just medieval, Obama-style political assisination orchestrated by Isabella and Roger Mortimer.
If you get your world view from public schools and television, or anything coming from the left, you are going to be deceived, enough so to be completely stupid when it comes to truth, facts and reality. Right, but was there even a gay identity in the 1300s? He was married and fathered children; if he also slept with men that was a behavior, not some “born that way” stamp on his identity. These advocates try and impose their postmodern newfangled political correctness agenda on ages long ago....

I think it’s more like 1 percent.
That means that liberals are 1/2 way to their goal. This is why retailers are catering to them. Not to the gays, but to the average bonehead who thinks that 25% is gay. In order to completely take over and “change” America, it’s important to pervert it as much as possible. Delegitimize the family unit, work ethic and christians. Continue to “chickify” men. Call a “nasty look” bullying. Make Americans forever fearful of saying anything for fear of sounding “homophobic” or “racist”. Put everyone on food stamps. And then...utopia.

That was something that jumped out at me reading this thread. Everyone refers to “homosexual” as “gay”, even on this thread.
Part of the battle is to control the language. I am not participating. Any time I refer to homosexuality or homosexuals, it will be with “homosexuality” or “homosexual” not “gay”.

Well I can see how uniformed people would think that. If you just arrived from Mars and turned on the TV you would guess that the county is 30% Black, 30% Hispanic, 40% White and 25%-30% is gay, with another 50% being straight but single with multiple sexual partners and only 10%-15% living in traditional marriages (usually portrayed as dysfunctional). You would also think that 80% of the country was agnostic, 10% Muslim (portrayed positively) and only 10% Christian (portrayed as dysfunctional). You would also think the country is 90% liberal and 10% conservative (ALWAYS portrayed negatively).

I live with a typical Obama supporter: absolutely loves free food and healthcare, sleeps most of the day, doesn't work, can't follow instructions or do simple math, is unjustifiably vain and envious. She also has a nice fur coat and is spayed. Living with a Democrat is possible, but only if they have no opposable thumbs to open things.
OMG - I nearly choked on my salad! My girl demo-cat actually can do very simple math. If I give her one less treat than her brother, she gets very angry.

Thanks for that info. The plot thickens. It is likely he died of AIDS; in any case, the damage is done, as it is now touted by advocates that history is rife with same sex marriages.
A lot gays flock to media type jobs and the arts like film, music, fashion etc. They pretty much set the agenda for what we see when we pick up a paper, magazine, or turn on the TV and radio. Gays make up most of pop culture so I can see how people believe that 25% of the population is gay.
