The hosts of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games should not be claiming any other host country’s games are a disaster.

Giant “political correctness” mess I can believe.

“Once again Jerry underestimating Tommy’s pluckiness.”

The WW-II Tommy was lead by a person with integrity, fortitude and intelligence.

The contemporary Tommy is led by a bunch of limp-wristed, lilly livered liberals who couldn’t run the neighborhood food store and think Muslims are the future.

Britain is doomed.

Of course, then again, the above situation pretty much parallels our dork president and his West Wing Clown show of Felon/Cretins.

So, we’re doomed too.

The Germans lost 11 Olympic athletes on their watch in 1972, so they don’t have any room to talk.

From everything I’ve seen and read over the past few days, it appears that Jerry is right.

“a gigantic ‘soggy mess’”

actually it’s gonna be a gigantic ‘BLOODY’ mess.
as I will be amazed if there isn’t a huge terrorist attack during the games.

They have a reputation for faultless efficiency and planning events with meticulous detail.

All except for that incident in 1972...

But really, I'm looking forward to this weekend's British Open, not so much the Olympics. Hope the weather is tolerable at Royal Lytham and St Annes.

Summer Olympics in rainy, foggy, cold London...

Almost as smart as having Winter Olympics in rainy, foggy, warm Vancouver.

I think the Olympic Committee needs to hire themselves a meteorologist as consultant to head off these PR disasters - I nominate Joe Bastardi!

Here is a rant of my own:

Whoever comes up with the Olympic Mascot designs every four years needs to be either put in jail or shot. They are not “artists”, they are sadists.

It is pathetically fugly.

I still cannot believe that a London bus driver got lost with a busfull of athletes & a 45 min trip became 4 hours.

Wa the driver a new recruit from Somalia???

I know London is fair sized, but 4 HOURS??? LOST???

One of the local TV channels stated that the private security company hired for the London Games is being paid $45 BILLION for the job.

IS THIS CORRECT??? BILLION? Not MILLION?

Local station has a history of blunders, especially where math is concerned——also their spelling on their graphics!!

Once again underestimating Tommy's pluckiness.

Nice to have our old and sometimes unappreciated friends sticking up for us. I take no pleasure in any way at what could be a bit of a mess. One could hand out the kudos for the Berlin Olympics prior to WW2. The peak of efficiency and recorded by "Triumph of the Will" documentary by a German woman.

Trouble was that old Adolf could not keep his nose out of Poland. The fool could have basked in all the glory he wanted. Ah well.....

I was a young man starting work in post war England in 1948. I did not have the money to go to nearby Wembley for a looksee. I remember the losing efforts track and field for a gold medal. Poor the English people were, by today's standards. So bloomin' optimistic though. Everyone had a job- if they wanted one. Few bore the actual civilian population of Germany any real ill will- 'cept the British communists, who were detested by George Orwell.

If I had my way, I would just have the Olympics in one permanent place, Athens would have made the most sense, if Greece wasn’t so messed up.

Pluckiness ain’t gonna help them on this one. The ticket fiasco really seems to have cooked this goose. Lots of empty hotel rooms, lots of empty seats.
