Americans have a right to full employment, housing, health care, collective bargaining and protection against old age, sickness and unemployment, according to AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka.
Trumka says Big Labor intends to push both the Democratic Party and the GOP to adopt what he called The Second Bill of Rights at presidential nominating conventions this summer.
Americas Second Bill of Rights is a broad-based statement of what the American people need and what they deserve. If some of it sounds redundant, it is because we once took many of these rights for granted, Trumka said last Thursday at the National Press Club.

Trumka would make a good Ernst Röhm, wouldn't he?
Eerie resemblance, eh?
‘protection against old age’
Sounds like the death panels will attack a younger and younger target demographic.
Then you will ‘be protected from old age’. You won’t GET OLD!!!
protection against old age
Richie Trumka and the Democrats can give me Eternal Youth with an Act of Congress? “””
NOOOO— but they can give you an early death!!!
Separated at birth...
“The Bill of Rights is NOT a laundry list of what government can GIVE you.The Bill of Rights is a LIMIT of the POWER of government.Socialists never can understand this.”
Thank you Banana, you are absolutely correct.
I agree with your take on that. Voter rights should only be extended to people who are citizens. If there were a way to do it, I’d also like to see a loyalty clause that figures in somehow, pledging to support the ideals of our Founding fathers and U. S. Constitution. If people can’t do that, they don’t really belong here, much less deserve to vote.
I have also voiced a concern over voting rights for women. My first wish is that women be allowed to vote. Sadly, by voting in a lopsided manner for Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, they have shaken my belief in it.
If a guy was slick, women seem almost as if they would vote for him anyway, even if he were likely to start snatching members of the immediate family just after being sworn in.
George Bush is an excellent study in what happens if you don’t elect someone who is a Conservative in their heart.
The Conservative mindset, just wasn’t in their nature.
When we do or support things, we almost instantly weigh the effort by a set of standards that make it supportable or not, by whether it falls in line with our ideals.
George never held those ideals.
I forget what the bill even was now, but there was an important one we wanted him to veto. It was clearly a flawed effort. So what did he do? He signed the damned thing and then sent his minions out to state that he knew the SCOTUS would strike it down.
I kid you not, the guy was utterly clueless at times. And as you mention, his little foot-runners here were blithering idiots to the bitter end.

Agreed.
Bush was a disaster, as his father was.
McCain-Feingold?
The “globalist” mindset (NWO) completely overtook GHWB, and his son just swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. It has baffled me all of my life how obtuse....naw...how STUPID most of these Ivy League mopes are.
Yes, I believe that was it. I don’t want to say emphatically that it was, but I’m pretty sure that was it.
I hear ya! Exposure to Leftist professors is bound to F your world view up at least in part.
Yep, Trumka thinks destroying the founding principles is just what the people need.
At least he’s honest and up front about it.
Now he can be dismissed for the loaf of human waste that he is.
Just saw this goon on FOX and cannot stand how these clowns, O’bama included, shout their message! I am not hard of hearing. Speak to me in civil tones. Shouts do not amplify importance of a message. Hitler shouted his message and was proved to be on the wrong side of humanity.....
