I'm sorry folks, but a man who can justify and rationalize in his own mind the wholesale slaughter of innocent human life can justify any kind of evil whatsoever. And he has.
He's justified homosexual marriage, homosexuals in the Boy Scouts, homosexuals in the military. That homosexual couples should be able to adopt children. He's justified that guns are dangerous and should be banned. That free citizens should be forced by the government to purchase insurance contracts against their will or face stiff penalties or taxes. That mandated forced socialized healthcare is a good thing.
That abortion should be safe and legal in America. That since Roe v Wade has been in effect for over twenty years that it is settled law and should be defended as same. That when the government puts Planned Parenthood on the board of his own brainchild signature accomplishment and makes taxpayer funded abortion available on demand, "it's not his fault." That when he appoints liberal judges and appointees, it's not his fault. When a judge rules that homosexual couples should be allowed to marry, so HE orders it done, it's not his fault.
He's justified that the earth is warming and it's caused by man and we are going to have to do something about it. He's justified that since the economy is down and some companies are failing, that it's a good thing that the government stepped in and bailed them out. That government should spend MORE of what it doesn't have to stimulate the economy. That the debt limit should be increased so the government can continue spending even more of what it doesn't have. He's justified in his own mind that fee hikes are not tax increases.
My friends he has justified and personally enacted just about the entire liberal/progressive, abortionist/homosexualist, statist/socialist, big government anti-liberty agenda.
And they have the gonads to ask me for MY vote?

Jim lives in Calfornia. It doesn't matter who he votes for. Obama will win California by 60+ percent. On the other hand, I live in Florida. My choice is a little more complicated.

I don't think of politicians as saviors. If we get a great one once in awhile it's wonderful. But a large part of the time pragmatism is enough.
By your logic, a Democrat staying home on election day, is a vote for Romney. It's illogical.
Our election system doesn't permit one to vote 'against' any candidate. All you can do is vote 'for' a candidate that suits you. If you abstain from voting, it doesn't increase the vote total of any candidate on the ballot.
If Romney is unable to convince or persuade enough people to vote for him, he simply loses because he didn't make the sale. It's that simple. Same holds for Obama.
You believe Romney is infinitely better than Obama, so you vote for him. We believe that Romney is not even infinitesimally better than Obama, so we will not vote for either.
I really detest the political system we have in this country. It decides against my better judgment who I am to vote for. It decides for me whether the political game is to be won or lost. It decides what issues are important for me in evaluating the party’s chosen candidate. It decides for me that I should be focusing on Obama’s policy and ideology when he is not even qualified to hold the office and a total waste of my time. They decide for me that his Constitutional ineligibility is not relevant or controlling when logic says they have with wanton corruption put the cart before the horse.
We have to overhaul this choreographed corrupt political process that is dressed up now as the voters electing their candidate. The whole process is totally demeaning and I am convinced it is conducted just to manipulate and placate us so we will not revolt. These clowns work for us and we should have the ability to freely decide who we want to represent our interests.
That’s a reasonable response, and one that recognizes why a person has to grapple with this in their own conscience.
Since you don’t have to wrestle and sweat it out regarding your own choice, maybe you could wrestle in prayer for the people whose vote could have extreme consequences.
Those who wish to persuade someone to their opinion in the name of the Lord might show the most honor for the Lord if they simply ask the Lord to make His will known to the people who need guidance. He is faithful, and He will do it.
First numerically honest and straightforward answer to my posted question, anywhere on this site! I'd reach through the monitor and kiss you, were it only possible! ;)
Now a question for you. If you vote for other in that situation, who decides who the next Attorney General, head of DHS, Defense Department, Regulatory Czar, HHS Secretary, Communications Czar, next Supreme Court Justices, etc.... will be?
One of two equally loathsome choices... neither one of whom I will have voted for.
I'm not a Republican; I'm a conservative. The Republican party never, ever gets to simply take my vote for granted -- they have to earn it, each and every time out, by running candidates whose views on the issues (as demonstrated by their previous track records, while in public office) reasonably align with my own... and I'm the only person on the face of the planet capable of judging whether or not they have, in fact, genuinely done so to my own satisfaction.

They can try a little harder next time out, if my vote is so supremely important to them (as I keep hearing, hereabouts).
The former owner had dumped $400 million in modernization ~ and the staff had been trimmed to the minimum. Bain got in on the deal for a mre $70 million although it looks like they had to borrow the money to do that.
So, who has a quick $70 mil to loan a bunch of accountants and lawyers to buy a steel mill? Maybe some Chinese government tradegroup with a current surplus?
Be interesting to find out where Mitt and his buddies went to get the money.
I seriously question his ability to return to Bain after he left in 1999. There had been some really bad decisions made just before then ~ the arrow of guilt points somewhere ~ and I'm guess it was toward the guy with a weak understanding of capitalism.

My decision to forgo voting for Romney isn't a signal to anyone...nor a protest, nor "taking my ball and going home". It's just that I fear God too much to give my mark of approval to Romney.
Would that it were so easy. He also has to appoint the judges, cabinet officers, and senior bureaucrats who will carry out (or at least not obstruct) the process of turning some of the current morass around. I expect, instead, that R0mney will appoint judges, cabinet officers, and senior bureaucrats who agree with the current morass, and wish to perpetuate and extend it. That's what he did in Massachusetts.
