The NWS and NOAA are totally useless government agencies. Their predictions are generally wrong. Furthermore, the alarmist, anti-American agenda is clear: promote the twin hoaxes of global warming and so-called "climate change".
Privately run weather services, notably WeatherBell with Joe Bastardi are far more accurate and don't waste taxpayer dollars perpetuating junk science.
I like the hot weather. You can get used to it if you stay outside most of the time. Sitting inside with air conditioning makes people less tolerant of the heat. Remember that air conditioning is only a recent invention. Our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence on a steaming July day and back then, they wore heavy wool clothing from head to toe.

This is positively just the sun doing its thing, very little of anything other than blue sky visible in the air today around D.C. and Northern Virginia. There were hot days during the first little ice age too.
D.C. has always been hotter than the hinges of Hades during the summer months.
My first car was a 1956 Volkswagen with a cloth sunroof. Opened that up on a hot July day on Pennsylvania Ave and never opened it again except at night.

That said, I work M-F in an A/C'ed office...or drive in my AC controlled car. On the weekends I work in my garage. Been triple digits here I think since Christmas.
I tie a cotton rag around my head which stops sweat from getting on my face and in my eyes, and once sweat starts to soak my clothes I actually get a chill from time to time.
The body has an amazing ability to take care of itself.

To those who have never lived in the DC area, mock all you want. But those are miserable temps., global warming or not. I feel sorry for the Sentinels at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier. Their dark blue uniforms soak up the heat like a sponge.
