Natalie Wood's death certificate has been changed from "Accident" to "Undetermined" ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the L.A. County Coroner filed documents making the change late last month.
Members of Wood's family tell TMZ ... detectives from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department -- which has reopened the death investigation -- paid them a visit earlier today informing them of the change. They tell us ... detectives told them the change was made in part because some of the bruises on Wood's body were inconsistent with death by drowning.
Family members add ... they were told at this point authorities can't prove definitively Wood's death was accidental or the result of foul play.

I think she died by accident but “undetermined” is probably the proper way to list it.
Agreed.
She was sure one of my favorites back in the day.
As we used to say “the only kind of wood that doesn’t float.”
and no one really needs to know complete moment by moment details, so there will probably BE some relative gaps ... but nothing, IMO, criminal.
When I was in college, I had a life size cardboard theater cut out of her in her Gypsy Rose LEE COSTUME.
Her death was such a shock to me. What a beautiful woman she was.
I think she was murdered always have and always will.
This one?

Have you seen “The Great Race” or “Love With The Proper Stranger”?
Mine, too. I only remember Splendor in the Grass. She was so pretty, and I was so saddened by her death. Only much later did I learn that she was Russian.
I couldn't believe she would just go swimming like that, and now that I've read more about her life and what is said about the incident, it sounds like negligent homicide at the least.
But I suppose they'll never get to the bottom of it. It's like they don't want to stir things up about her husband (he was handsome way back when) plus there wasn't a whole lot to go on. I think they had all been drinking.
Serious drinking and boats are a lethal combination. Reflexes and judgement disappear. And you can’t just lay there when you fall down.
She was one of the few, rare women of true physical beauty, IMO. Since I didn’t know her, I can’t speak to her personality.
From back in the day, I remember it being said that her husband Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken had been bickering/fighting on the boat/yacht. They alone were on the boat with Natalie that night. She had just co-starred with Walken in ‘Brainstorm’.
It sounds to me she could have fallen and hit a ski ramp or the dingy.
He talks about that night here.

Your “Love with the Proper Stranger” is probably good too.
Here it is, the whole movie with French sub-titles.

Yep, one of my favorites.
