~ Independence Day ~ July 4, 1776 ~

Preamble to the Declaration of Independence

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Good Morning, Sarmajor! And a Happy Independence Day to all my Canteen FRiends and comrades!

We’re marking the day today in style. VFW Post 8108 is hosting a massive BBQ for the veterans and their families. It kicks off at 1500 and runs until the food runs out.

The Bride and I, along with the girls and their cousin, are going to partake of the feeding frenzy along with the rest. Pics will follow if I can manage.

The local town here also staged a great parade which shut down traffic for hours. Still a good feeling here!

Yes, that scooter is WAY cool! Now, as soon as we get enough members we can start knocking-off convenience stores.

Oh, and we have to think about menacing-looking garb, like Viking clothes, black leather jackets with spikes on them and such.

For the time being, I figure since we are the only two members we have to ride around town looking mean, tough and fearless...with chains hanging on the handle bars so that the other Seniors Gangs know that we don’t take any guff. Right?

When we get 6 - 8 members we can then start our pillage of the locals, huh?

I figure we’re going to need at least 6 - 8 members to knock off a convenience store.

01. Lookout - has to be someone who is fortunate enough not to wear glasses yet.

02. Hot mama to distract the cashier.

03. One to pillage the ointments and salves, like Vicks Vap-O-Rub, Tiger Balm, etc.

04. One to clean out the pain reliever aisle - aspirin, acetominophen and ibuprofen.

05. One to completely relieve the owner of all of the itmes on the laxative aisle.

06. One for the Depends aisle with a very large container.

07. One to get all of the denture glue, etc.
and the little specially-designed cups that are used to soak them overnight.

Of course, as we become more proficient then we can start hitting the health food stores - vitamins, minerals.

But then...the bigtime...the medical stores that sell knee braces, heating pads, walkers, wheelchairs and such.

Man are we gonna be tough or what?

...and to you! My “slave” made bread yesterday and today is
putting up the flag pole that he got for me for Christmas.

Gotta keep slaves occupied or they get restless and rebellious. :)
