(snip) ...Malta, as you know, is an impregnable island fortress, he (Roberts) said on Friday, according to news reports. It seemed like a good idea.
The chief justice was correct to anticipate a level of fury unusual even in the wake of a blockbuster decision with vast political, practical and constitutional consequences. The criticism came from all sides. And it was directed not at the court as whole or even at the majority in the 5-to-4 decision. It was aimed squarely at him.
(snip) Professor Yoo, the former Bush administration official, said her report (referring to Jan Crawford's book) appeared to underscore the chief justices failure.
If the report is true, Chief Justice Roberts has not just made a mistake of constitutional interpretation, but of political leadership, Professor Yoo said in an e-mail. His job is not to finesse the place of the Supreme Court in the political world, in which he and most justices are rank amateurs, but to get the Constitution right first and then defend the institution second.

Is Malta a gay mecca?
No, Malta is a conservative Catholic country and he would be scorned there.
I got news for the Court Jester, the scorn will still be here when he gets back. And it will stay indefinitely. He can regain respect and honor by admitting what he did was wrong and resigning.
Tagline.
He was doing Obama a favor. A pay back. Roberts was relieved that Obama’s executive order protected the children brought illegally to the United States. It does not just cover children from Mexico.
Actually, in Malta, gay activity is completely legal.
resigning and giving 0bama another AJ-SCOTUS and elevating Elena “Jon Lovitz” Kagen to Chief Justice. Are you nuts?
Obviously I’m not, but is Roberts really qualified to teach a course on the history of the Supreme Court? Sounds like it might be a short course:
“It started out okay, but we’re fixing it.”

What he did was wimp out and toss he problem back to congress.
If all SC problems can be that easy to dispose of, why have a SC at all. Send everything, in question, back to congress to dispose of.
THAT is an interesting take.
After the election. Even if he resigned today bambi would not have time to appoint another. If obama wins re election it won’t matter anyway.
Take it like a man, Roberts. Sheesh. If you really care about how the Court looks politically, why not hang around and answer the tough questions?
Wuss.
Could be, which means he chose to shirk is duty and screw the american people for decades maybe forever just so his family life would be more comfortable.
Obama has a new dog now to sit with him and have his head stroked.
Do the right thing, Roberts and resign.
Or do the manly thing.
What?
Island fortress...good for money laundering.....and numbered accounts....pay off time....
What a coward. He can’t stand for the good of the nation against media pressure, and now he can’t take the justified anger of American taxpayers after selling out.
In many countries, he would be burned in effigy as a “welcome home” gesture, but we, the sheeple, will just complain to our computers and increase the amount we send our masters in D. C. from our dwindling incomes.
He should stay in Malta.
Be careful what you wish for. I wouldn't put it past the rickhead to resign right now so that hussein can appoint another ginsberg or wise latina just to show conservatives where they can put their criticism
