Was Fast and Furious coverup planned all along?

This evening, explosive new details are emerging in the Fast and Furious scandal that led to the contempt vote yesterday against Attorney General Eric Holder.

Grassley didn’t confront the Justice Department or ATF with those questions until Jan. 27, 2011, but ATF headquarters had prepped internal talking points as early as Jan. 12, 2011.

In that Jan. 12, 2011, memo, ATF officials laid out expected questions about gunwalking in Fast and Furious and Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s murder with Fast and Furious weapons – and canned answers ATF officials were supposed to give to press or anyone else asking about it.

Twitter has exploded this evening as news of this development and secret Dept. of Justice wiretaps came to light on Friday.

Progressives on Twitter are also increasing their desperate attempts tonight to shift blame away from Holder and President Obama and onto former President George W. Bush or the National Rifle Association.

Of course lost in all of the blame shifting by the left is their concern about the deaths of Border Agent Brian Terry and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents Jaime Zapata and Victor Avila and scores of Mexican civilians.

The coverup is usually worse than the crime – but in the case of Gunwalkergate, with so many dead including Brian Terry and Jaime Zapata – that’s going to be a pretty high bar.

There have been a lot of hits on Issa at this site, but although progress is slow it seems to be cunning and calculated. I becoming more impressed each day.

I think there's a whistle blower who told the entire story to Issa. I think he knows exactly what he's looking for and what he wants exposed.
The ATF agents involved can't be happy about what they've been forced to do. 2 people are dead, and who knows how many Mexicans. This is just the beginning of the deaths this scandal is going to cause. Those weapons are going to be out there for decades.

Through all the lefts attacks, the accusations of racism, the MSM onslaughts, etc., he keeps going. I think it's because he knows whats in those documents. I think he knows EVERYTHING, and he's not going to let this issue escape. This scandal has got to be a lot bigger than we think it is.

This news is behind the curve, I’ve known about the wiretaps since Katy Pavlich’s book on F&F came out. Suggest everyone read this one if you want all of the facts.

But what Issa did was shove it up Cumming’s keester by having it published in the Congressional record the other night. The Democrats were so involved in their obfuscation tactics that they lost sight of the ball. Now that letter is part of the public record and it really makes Cummings look bad because he claimed, as Holder did, that there was nothing of importance in this letter.

I see the move by Issa at this time to be incredibly deft as it comes as everyone is leaving town and it also is giving enough time for what will be a wave of whistle blowers out to save their butts coming forth before Congress is back in session.

This one act will accelerate public dissemination as other leakers will start to talk to certain members of the press as well. Someone like Major Garrett will be on the cusp of a Pulitzer. I believe this scandal’s “Deep Throat” has already been in contact with Issa’s investigator.

He not only has them, but everybody knows he has them. That can be said with almost ironclad certainty.

Issa must follow the required process. Obama is hoping he can run out the clock.

I have been following this since january 2011. The impatience of people on this site utterly amazes me. Issa played this thing exactly right, and contrary to opinions generated on this very site, boner has been in his corner all along. Just by checking the record people would know this.

4:00 mark of the video below. She describes F&F to a T. Includes references to Wide Receiver - “operations put on the back shelf by the previous administration”. She says this - in MARCH 2009.

F&F appears to be top-down, not bottoms-up.

I might be wrong, but more and more I'm coming to believe there is a CIA operation to arm up the muslims for the “ARAB SPRING” and they needed a way of explaining how so many weapons from the US were ending up in Mexico.

An operation smilier to Iran-Contra and the Clinton operation in the 90’s to arm up the muslims.

I also believe they are using the CIA operation as a cover for a drug running operation.

Can the hammer be put on Cummings? Hold him in contempt or something like that that might make him decide to come clean?
