Just the facilities the POA has here around the lake. Parks, ballroom, outdoor pavilions, meeting places and an exercise facility.

A video that was made in New York City of Tito Rojas and his wife

They have been married forever and have several children. Unlike most entertainers who try to hide their marriages, Tito revels in bragging that he has been married forever and has several children. It seems to boost his CD sales rather than hurt sales. His songs are always VERY romantic.

Good evening, thought I’d bump the thread with a few nice songs.

Here’s an accoustic, stripped recording of a live performance by Creed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xpl2LwFt8x8&;

The song is “With Arms Wide Open.”

Written by lead singer Scott Stapp upon the birth of his son. Born in Goldsboro, NC, Stapp had a difficult youth and early adulthood filled with rebellion. His stepfather was a Pentecostal minister, who reportedly had him memorizing Bible verses as punishment. Stapp did, however, take his stepfather’s surname and attended seminary in an attempt to please him.

It didn’t last. He fell into drug and alcohol abuse, culminating in thoughts of suicide in 2003. He caught himself and had something of an epiphany, rededicated his life to his wife and children, and to his band, Creed.

His upbringing apparently stuck with him and carried him through his time of trouble, you can hear it in the lyrics of any number of Creed songs.

His sheer love and joy at the birth og his son shines right through, particularly in this simpler, stripped down rendition of “With Arms Wide Open.”

I can relate.

Here’s a nice and surprising one, a very sleek live performance of “Sour Times” by Portishead.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr3In858tQk&;

Unless you were into the alternative music scene of the late 80’s to early 90’s, or listened to college radio, you may never have heard of Portishead. That same dreamlike quality that draws me to so many artists and songs is present here in spades.

They’ve aged exceedingly well and are utterly professional in this, it does my heart good as an aging former dj for a radio station at a very liberal, Quaker associated private university, to hear it.

Last one for now, back to current, popular metal-tinged music, this is.the only recent metal band getting airplay that I thoroughly enjoy.

Chevelle - “Send The Pain Below.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAqFnatvKvk&;

The lyrics are a little inscrutable, and I really must be getting old because they look twelve, lol, but it’s a very tight performance and a compelling sound for those who love a little metal in their contemporary rock music.
