The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.
The Administration is disappointed that the Congress did not incorporate the requested TRICARE fee initiatives into either the appropriation or authorization legislation, the White House wrote in an official policy statement expressing opposition to the bill, which the House approved in May.
President Obamas most recent budget proposal includes billions of dollars in higher fees for members of TRICARE, the military health care system, and is part of the administrations plan to cut nearly $500 billion from the Pentagons budget.
Some fear the administrations proposal is an effort to increase enrollment in the state-run insurance exchanges mandated under the presidents controversial health care law.
The administration urged the House to reconsider to fee increase, arguing they are essential for DOD to successfully address rising personnel costs.
The House bill has significant bipartisan support, and easily passed by a margin of 299 to 120.

Secret Service Uniformed personnel, Border Patrol, Force Protective Services are Fed law enforcement officers, and there are Fed Prison guards, they have different retirement options then say a clerk at HHS. I am guessing that would include the Capital Police as well. We’ve had uniformed Federal Law Enforcement types for a very long time, what do you find wrong with that?
I’ll rumage through my stuff at home and see what I can find about the mail-order option.
I can e-mail it, if I can find it.

C’mon, he doesn’t give a sh*t about the military, never has.
He and the Mooch can have as many photo-ops with troopers in the back ground as they want but we know who they really are...
Excuse me but why, in God’s name, would you even contemplate giving up a promised benefit that makes up for all the lost earning power, home security, family stability and the like if the idiots who run the country need your benefit to pull themselves out of a whole they dug giving food stamps, handouts to greenieacs, and the like.
Sorry but anyone who has sacrificed themselves, their family and their earning power for their country deserves to be at the head of the line....
It was 33 years, not 20. I managed to stay in pretty good condition during a lot of those years. I ran with a lot of Marine embassy guards in Latin America. My buddy and I, ate age 44, did all the Marine PFT requirements except for the pullups. I ran with the Marines in Havana for four years. Now, at nearly 70, I’m suffering from heart failure among other issues.
LOL! That’s really what Democrats are.. Magicians. They specialize in deceit; Saul Alinsky.
Ping for later
Good grief.
God bless our military troops.
Not penalize them.
Obama sure has it backwards.

There, fixed it.

My husband is USN retired...3 tours in Korea and 2 in Nam. We have Tricare for Life and get our prescritions filled at Walmart.
I read an article in the VFW Washington Weekly that our insurance won’t be affected by Obummercare thanks to intensive lobbying done by the VFW. Congress would have to vote for increases but right now everyone is on edge. Never know what to expect.
In This Issue:
1. National Health care Upheld
2. Stolen Valor Act Overturned; What do you think?
3. VFW Supported Bills Clear Subcommittees

1. National Healthcare Upheld: The Supreme Court upheld the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act challenge on Thursday, even though a reversal would have had little to no impact on service-connected veterans served by the Department of Veterans Affairs or on military members and retirees served by military medicine or enrolled in TRICARE. This is because your VFW led the fight back in March 2010 to get Congress to recognize all VA and Defense Department health programs as meeting minimal acceptable coverage standards as required by a proposed national healthcare bill that had failed to include VA health programs for widows and disabled children, and almost 90 percent of military TRICARE programs. With the strong support of then-House Armed Service Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) and Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.), and the grassroots advocacy of thousands of VFW members and supporters, the new, more encompassing legislation quickly passed Congress and was signed into law by the president on May 27, 2010. Read the high court's ruling at http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/11pdf/11-393c3a2.pdf.
And we will be watching and cheering for these soldiers as they drag obozo’s sorry azz out of OUR White House and into a waiting paddy wagon and on to jail...along with that mooch, and every czar, hack and thug on his payroll.
Hey, I might even throw a bunch or two of agrula at obozo as they drag him away...the skinny, limp-wristed traitor has to eat, ya know!
“No more fancy vacations, Michelle! It will all be on your dime now!”
When he leaves office Obama will receive a presidential pension of $191,000 per year plus government paid staff and offices. Both will likely receive lucrative book contracts and speaking engagements. They will also be part of the inner circle of the progressive elite so their investments will perform fabulously. Currently their personal net worth is estimated at $8 to $10 million. Within five years, like the Clintons, it will increase tenfold just because they are who they are.
Barack and Michelle will live the good life while the rest of us try to rebuild America.
