U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is joking that hell be spending some time in an impregnable fortress after casting the decisive vote upholding President Barack Obamas health care law. Responding to a question about his summer plans, Roberts quipped that he thought his planned trip to Malta to teach a class was a good idea. He delivered the joke Friday at a federal court conference at a posh Pennsylvania resort. Roberts declined to answer a question about the landmark opinion issued Thursday. But he says he hopes the court will be remembered for protecting equal justice under the law. Roberts was speaking in Farmington, Pa., at a conference hosted by the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit.

It’s more than just healthcare. We are all just slaves now thanks to this Roberts POS.
There was a time when I thought that the U.S. Constitution was an impregnable fortress.
Sounds a lot like the treatment in government-operated military hospitals - a microcosm of the mess Obamacare will unleash, which will inevitably result in even more crowded, uncertain, and unsanitary conditions.
I knew a guy who had successful brain surgery, yet died the next day because a quack doctor with a history of malpractice who couldn't hack it in the private sector yanked out his shunt prematurely. Another guy I know pulled some ligaments while jogging, was mistakenly put in a decompression chamber by a corpsman, and then ended up with gangrene. And a third guy who went from doctor to doctor with an undiagnosed brain tumor for over a year. The delay in diagnosing it cost him an eye and half of the nerves in his face.
What was it all for? Better to declare bankruptcy and join the leeches and looters now, the only ones rewarded in this corrupted society.
And those of us who are raising kids now have to wonder how best to advise them. Should they give up and join the leeches or go work for the IRS-Gestapo?
What this type of response says to me is that he KNEW what he was doing was going to be extremely controversial and unpopular. He KNEW what he was doing was clearly unconstitutional but he didn’t care and did it anyway because...well...he could. Where do we go from here beside elections?! The People are screwed otherwise. We have no other recourse. And while being a dick, he’s not stupid and knows that as with all other things, the outrage will eventually wear off and no one will care anymore. Meanwhile, precedent has been sent and the further dismantling of the Republic will commence.
His reaction shows admission. Of not only his own evil intent but of his mental illness which is liberalism. It’s cancerous and debilitating. Screw his epilepsy. His real disease is statism.
Lets see who’s laughing in November...
I wonder if GW Bush and his proxy Alberto Gonzales, who supposedly vetted Roberts, didn't nominate Roberts because he would likely make a ruling as he ended up doing on AZ's SB1070.
It could be the "Affordable Care" ruling was just collateral damage.
Lethal to the Republic, but collateral.

I'm sorry but the only thing I see in my minds eye today is Arlington National cemetery and it's endless rows of men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to uphold our freedom as laid out in our Constitution. The ruling of one activist judge pisses on the graves of all these heroes and tosses the Constitution they died to defend right into the shredder. There is NOTHING funny about that! Chief Justice you are a disgrace! You have turned freedom and the blood that was spilled to obtain it, on it's ear! All for the sake of your ego it appears. My gawd, it is not that health care could not have been addressed with some other president or congress. What you did was to was to uphold this mess even though you found its “heart” to be unconstitutional, AND THEN put it back on life support with a mechanism you pulled out of your ass, which will allow congress to tax us even on items we refuse to purchase. I am speechless!!!!
OMG, those stories are HORRIBLE. That's right, we will either have to wait too long, get someone who has been imported (and not trained right) and whose English we can't even understand, or be misdiagnosed. Or, just be given the pill and told to go find a quiet corner.
Should they give up and join the leeches or go work for the IRS-Gestapo?
I'm sorry, but I had to lol at that! That is terrible too! I guess I know now why God didn't send me children, I wouldn't have been able to handle it.
It's hardly even worth owning a house --- especially not in the People's Republic of Tucson -- where we are penalized and thousands stolen from us each year to pay for illegal spawn to learn how to hate the "whites." Here, we're already considered "the rich" even though we live in a working man's semi-ghetto 'hood. Now, BO is going to tax us again, if we dare sell.
At least I know that I did everything I could to fight this. I went to 99% of the protests (either after work or took vacation days) against DeathCare. My parents escaped from a Communist country and I, and my friends, knew exactly what was coming. Comrade Gabby Giffords knew better than the vast majority of her constituents, however, and decreed that she would vote for it, no matter what we thought.
What did they have on him?
Yup. And a new generation of slaves — 800,000 plus the millions upon millions of chain migration and unenforced invaders — to take our place. 40s? 50s? Too old to work anymore — off with our heads. Do not pass Go and do not collect SS.
Lincoln and FDR took care of that. Obama just solidified the socialism that has set precedent after precedent to reduce the Constitution to the party thats in power.
The hero, a good and decent man and a wise judge, is forced to push an agenda through the courts and make the travesty of judgment believable as his - by any means. All under a threat so immense and unthinkable, that none would guess it.
Having saved mankind certain death and miseries, the hero becomes reviled among his peers and hated by those who once loved him..he lives out his days in silent agony and despair.
Because it is a movie, I knew what that thing was and applauded his sacrifice.
(Maybe there is that unimaginable thing)
“His life must be a piece of hell right now”
I hope you are absolutely right. And I hope he lives it forevermore. After making America a “piece of hell”, the architect certainly deserves that and more.
The whackjob leftists were right, though they didn't know it. It IS all Bush's fault! :(
I don't expect the outrage against Roberts to pass that quickly, either.
Maybe people's "outrage" against Benedict Arnold has passed, but his name is still forever held in contempt. Roberts may soon be joining him, not as a traitor, but as someone who betrayed a trust and forever tarnished his name.

Ok, I understand your feelings, I feel a bit of that myself.
But was it really this guy’s job to SAVE all of us from the POS that we’ve collectively allowed to become president? The a$$holes like Nancy Pelosi that we’ve allowed to get into power?
We wanted him to SAVE US from this crap, and he didn’t. He threw the ball back to us. All of us.
Just because we didn’t vote for Obama and all the other idiot sticks running the government, doesn’t mean we don’t all bear some responsibility. Our culture has degraded to the point where these people seemed acceptable to enough of our population that they actually got elected. So shame on us as a nation, all of us.
The liberals aren’t all aliens from the planet Mars - they are people we know. Neighbors, people at our churches, relatives even. So as conservatives it’s up to us to say “no mas.” We need to do MORE to change this crap, and to work against the lazy “blame the other guy” culture that has taken such strong root in the US.
I would love to agree with you. However, my faith in people and what is sensible has just about run out. Perhaps it’s still the hangover from yesterday talking but I’m thoroughly disgusted with humankind.
