U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is joking that hell be spending some time in an impregnable fortress after casting the decisive vote upholding President Barack Obamas health care law. Responding to a question about his summer plans, Roberts quipped that he thought his planned trip to Malta to teach a class was a good idea. He delivered the joke Friday at a federal court conference at a posh Pennsylvania resort. Roberts declined to answer a question about the landmark opinion issued Thursday. But he says he hopes the court will be remembered for protecting equal justice under the law. Roberts was speaking in Farmington, Pa., at a conference hosted by the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit.

That's the part that bugs me the most (aside from the fact that Obamacare is, in effect, the deliberate destruction of the greatest healthcare system on earth).
We're all helots now, thanks to this despicable ruling.
Roberts’ legacy will be turning the SCOTUS into just another tentacle of the Executive Branch. The Supreme Court is a freak show made up of DemocRAT political hacks and gay latinas with “compelling life stories”. The can all KMA.
Sometimes I hear O’Connor referred to as a good justice. This is ridiculous. She is a decent lady on a personal level, but she allowed herself to be swayed by emotional “progressive” arguments too often. She was one of Reagan’s failures, IMO. Just b/c she wasn’t as bad as some others, there is no reason to praise her. Bob
We all read about the threats to the MSM if they reported on Obama's lack of qualification documents, but who is it that is so powerful that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court can't get military protection from the most elite forces at the government's disposal?
Certainly someone at the top of our government system has the power to expose such a rogue criminal entity, yes?

Another SCOTUS stealth nominee from a supposed Republican (in this case, panderer, capitulator & all around dumb ass GW Bush) put Roberts onto the Supreme Court. That was the biggest concern that conservatives had about the minimal track record of John Roberts. Would he be a constitutional conservative, or he would follow the path of other Repub stealth nominees, and flip over to the leftist-marxist side as soon as they are confirmed.
And now we have our answer on asshole John Roberts... he's had quite a week destroying America... voted against AZ illegal alien law, voted against Stolen Valor and voted to uphold 0dumb0's CommieCare. I think we have just seen the real coming out of asshole John Roberts as the new Earl Warren.
I've noticed various repub pundits are determined to spin Robert's betrayal of duty into some brilliant legal maneuver or heroic deed.
I wonder if they're secretly in the bag for Obama as well.
Repubs crave power every bit as much as the Rats, secretly they want to have control over healthcare, of course they'd never say that to the voters.
What a total piece of sh*t.
I know, I hear you....
I *finally* achieved the pinnacle of success, starting about 12 years ago, when I started my third career. I had gone to graduate school, held five part-time jobs at once, so on — what most of us conservatives have done. Finally paid off my student loans and so on.
I have never been happier, working for an outstanding Fortune 500 company. While blessed to be in good health, whenever I have had to go in (X-Ray for an accident, blood test, or something), everything is clean, spotless, FAST, safe, and paid for.
Now, I envision Cuba-style open and dirty rooms, Post Office/DMV numbers, and the same sneering attitudes that many/most of the TSAs/Post Office/Census/goobt workers already have, especially when they’re affirmative action. They know better than us, and they sound robotic when talking down to us.
What was it all for? Better to declare bankruptcy and join the leeches and looters now, the only ones rewarded in this corrupted society.
I would rather die fighting than continue to live as a slave and to give in to these Marxist/democrat bastards.
You can’t watch the court live unless you are there, they don’t allow cameras in.
I agree with you on Roberts not being happy about this. I am not sure that he was actually threatened, or if perhaps the massive pressure on him from the President, etc was more than he could deal with. I don’t think this is a hugely egotistical man, or some yellow belly commie as so many here are trying to make him out to be.
He is not a simple partisan HACK, which many here object to.
I didn’t agree with his opinion. I wish he’d written it differently, and sided with the right. But all of the insults being hurled at him show more about the people writing them than they do about Justice Roberts.
His life must be a piece of hell right now, and whatever his reasons were for doing this, they must have overwhelmed him.
Gut punched yesterday, and now this.
Is any one else laughing right now?
Well, the Regime history books might portray him that way, but what he is is the handmaiden to tyranny. Roberts needs to start polishing Dear Leader's hobnail boots so they are nice and shiny for the photo ops.
Roberts called that ‘equal justice’.
????!!???!?!???!? Those who defended Roberts yesterday have anything to say?
Hey I won’t exactly disagree with you on that.
Do the crime, do the time.
Maybe somebody had something terrible on the guy... We all know Obama is the biggest gangster president we’ve ever had.
Amen to that. And, as an added bonus, if dirty Harry loses enough senate seats, he might just be kicked to the curb as minority leader as well.
Almost immediately after the decision came down yesterday, CNN was touting him as the Charles Evans Hughes of our time. Obama, presumably, is today’s FDR.
