Repeal and Retire?
6/28/12 (Will live in Infamy) | dagogo redux

Posted on 06/28/2012 6:59:14 PM PDT by dagogo redux

I was listening just now to a$$wipe Hannity blithering on the radio about the proposed Romney idea to "Repeal and Replace" regrading ObamaCare, as all the while an astute listener tried to get a word in edgewise about his idea to "Repeal, and Return to the People". Hannity kept going on and on about his Federal, statist solutions, because, "We've GOT to insure that everyone has access to affordable healthcare," and "We've got to make it FAIR for people with pre-existing conditions" and such.

What struck me was Hannity's strident insistence on Federal solutions that are found nowhere in the Constitution or the writings of the Founders. Once again I said to myself: If he or Democrats or anyone else wants to pay for the medical bills of others, they are welcome to donate their own money, or solicit donations through their own charity started for that purpose, but leave me out of it unless I want to be involved.

A better phase then came to my mind: "Repeal and Retire," pointing to the Federal government "retiring" (or "retreating"?) back to their original Constitutional mandate. It might make a catchy phrase for those of us grown tired of Big Federal Goverment's funding, and involvement in, and regulation of, every aspect of our lives.

Evidently Hannity is not against the Feds taxing him every time he needs to take a piss.

This is why we are doomed. The people that are supposed to speak for us are still stuck on the “compassionate consrvative” crap.

Did you make the mistake of thinking you would turn on Hannity and hear sage words of a historic Constitutional scholar?

I can’t listen to him. Too many brainwashed, commie lib callers with very little intelligence. One after another. I consider his show the replacement for the long gone Air America.

It would be compassionate if we took Bill Gates’s wealth and gave it to the poorest in Washington State. We could probably help tens of thousands and only hurt one... it seems to be a good trade! Only it is against the law! What part of this do so-called “conservatives” like Hannity not understand?

Hannity is a classic example of Catholic doctrine on these sorts of issues. They “care” about the poor because they’ve been taught that they’re supposed to care... and because they’ve been taught that they’re supposed to care, if they get the levers of power, *you* are supposed to care.

This is why many of our ancestors left Europe - to escape the reach of the Catholic Church into every nook and cranny of our lives.

Well, now the papists have taken control of the US economy through this decision, and there will be no end to the “caring” we’re supposed to do.... just as we see on illegal immigration.

I heard the same thing and was screaming at the radio to let the caller talk. His point IS the issue as to why we are in the mess of needing any sort of health care re-write in the first place; government intrusion. Over half of the people working in the health care system today are there only to comply with government regulations.

The only answer is to get the government the hell out of health care altogether and at the same time enact loser pays tort reform and the cost and availability will be significantly more affordable.

Romney says he wants to repeal and replace with a system where the Federal Government will HELP the states to come up with their own plans. The overbearing problem with that is that portability goes out the window and we get back to the same place we are at this time.

GET GOVERNMENT THE HELL OUT OF IT ALL!!!!

You are a bigot.
you are also wrong on Catholic Doctrine.

“Subsidiarity” is still Catholic Doctrine, and that concept is anti-Socialism and anti-Big Government.

Subsidiarity teaches that no level of authority should assume any power or control best left to a lower level of authority.

Now, I will admit, many Catholic Priests and Bishops are also wrong about Catholic Doctrine on economic issues.

Have you seen the Catholics being discriminated against in Obamacare?

I’m not sure that it’s the time for the “Kick a Catholic” game.

Where are the Catholics singled out in this monstrosity?

Is there some special piece of this legislation that applies to only Catholics?

Not so far as I can see. It’s an offense to anyone who believed in the founding principles of the republic.

And as for playing “kick the Catholic:” Oh, you can bet your ass I’m going to play.

Here’s why:

The truth hurts. I’m dispensing truth. Deal with it.

What Constitution is that? You mean the former US Constitution that they wadded up and threw into the fireplace of history this morning?

A very sad day for liberty today.... I'm pissed!

Find me something in this press release that reflects the doctrine of “subsidiarity:”

I actually tried to listen to him the other day and couldn’t make it past 10 minutes. I haven’t listened to him in months and could still hear the repeated phrases. Could tell by the way he talked it was Hannity in “parrot mode.”

This nation is split ‘bout 50/50 on virtually everything.

They are going to give us (dem & rep) some form of socialized medicine.

The only possibility of avoiding it is a civil war.

There is no way we will replace enough statist with Tea party types in time to turn the tide—if ever.

Votes, signs, calls, letters—it won’t change the course any time soon. Perhaps in the future...

We are out of time.
