I was in a meeting when this ruling came down, and have been trying to grasp its significance. As I understand from various posts, the individual mandate was declared unconstitutional. However, the act itself still stands as it is a tax on those who don’t have, or won’t buy health insurance.
If that is true, it indeed is a tax increase; one on a select group of Americans (those who don’t have or don’t want health insurance...the rest of us are already paying for insurance so it’s not a tax unless we have to pay more for less coverage). Also, that select group of Americans cuts through every strata of income. It’s not based on income but on lack of action by the taxpayer.
Can someone with more understanding than I have clarify this for me?
The Mexicans are now like the woman who said obama was going to pay her mortgage. They believe this is in effect NOW. All they gotta’ do is get across the border and they got free healthcare. HERE THEY COME!

If this isn’t repealed in totem to Nth degree so as to make absolutely clear the government does have limits I will absolutely drop my interest in politics.
I have spent untold hours on this administration and it’s over reach. I have spent thousands supporting their opponents.

This decision sets up the Gov to Tax anything it wants. ANYTHING, Anybody, for Any reason.

Roberts knows, just as I know, that this obamacare would NOT have passed had it been a tax. And it's Roberts who claims he doesn't wish to overrule legislative action. He know his claim about obamacare being a tax is pure forcing onto us of something that congress would have rejected.

Not relying on SCOTUS to affect our Liberties is a good thing my opinion; generally, an unreliable lot of politically appointed lawyers.

Time is past due for a revolution.this wasn’t just a tax, it was a mandate, the government forcing us to buy something. This is the end of freedom.That is unconstitutional so Roberts rewrites the law to make it a tax so he can vote for it. that is impeachable because these justices can’t rewrite laws all they can say is yes or no. This is the end of freedom not about just a tax( which is bad enough anyway).
This is the end of liberty, the end of freedom. The federal government now has unlimited power to force anyone of us to buy anything not to mention that with this Obamacare they can control every part of our lives now.

If Romney wins - not a certainty - ObamaCare will likely just be replaced by RomneyCare II whatever that is. RomneyCare II may be preferable to ObamaCare I suppose and if so we should be grateful for any little crum or morsel the federal government allows us to have since we are slaves to the State.
This country has been drifting into socialism for 80 years or longer. There are more takers than makers. The takers breed like rabbits. There is no way to win this thing long term. They will breed or steal the numbers and votes. In a few decades or less this country is France or Greece. It is simply a matter of projected demographics.
We must think differently. We live in an occupied country that has been slowly taken over by socialists and RINOs and worse. If we are able to win elections and issues that is great and I am not suggesting we give up on those fronts. But if are not able to win elections (and I suspect that will increasingly be the case over time) we must be prepared to resort to (political) guerilla warfare tactics to attack, humiliate and destroy our opponents, slow their progress and generally muck up the works. Our wonderful Republicrats will not do this. The remnants of the country (us) must engage in any tactics necessary to survive and slow them down.
