We will be prepared, said Obama aide Valerie Jarrett this week when asked about White House contingency plans in the event that Obamacare is struck down by the Supreme Court. But on Twitter, Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic said something interesting: that the White House has executive orders ready to go if Obamacare is struck down. Their content and timing I dont know, Marc says. But theyve got contingency plans a-plenty.
Its not clear to me exactly how much of Obamacare can be reinstated via executive order. Its certainly conceivable that the president could issue costly mandates that affect private insurers. But the president couldnt expand Medicaid on his own, or ration Medicare without congressional approval.
If that is so, in large measure it will be because the corrupt MSM provided political cover for Obama.
I just wonder..........
What would happen if 100 million people went to their personnel departments, and changed their tax withholding status to “Married, 10 dependents”....
How long would it take the government to run out of money???
There’s an election very near...that is our pressure valve and it is up to the people to use it.
Right now, based on his record, his priorities and his abuse of power, I give him one chance in 10 of being successful in the election. If he over-reaches again on this issue, in particular, that falls to less than one chance in twenty. We should hope he tries - tomorrow he faces two crushing defeats and if he hadn’t already suffered terminal electoral wounds on his handling of the economy, these defeats would be conclusive.
“It may finally force the American people and Congress to do something about this despot”
The hand of God could not force or corrupt Congress to take action agains’t that muzzie lovin commie.
He has had since then to come up with a way to get around the decision with EO's.
“How long would it take the government to run out of money???”
Where have you been??? The government ran out of money long ago. We are in hock, our kids are in hock, our grand kids are in hock, our great grand kids are in hock.
Ever hear of the FED?? The government never runs out of money.
What can be done to reverse and stop his decrees/presidential executive orders?
“How could he fund it? The House would cut him off from money.
“
No problemo ! He would simply issue a Order to the Treasury to print money... that’s no problem !
Thanks for the headaches Ms.Pelosi...You passed it so we could find out whats in it, not a whole lot of people like it, now look at all the trouble we’re going to have trying to get rid of it
Saw an elderly man who was wearing a t-shirt that read “Our grandfathers would already be shooting.” I could not agree more.
Something tells me this moment (the SC decision) will be pivotal.
This dictator is so brazenly audacious (redundant I know) that I nervously wonder what day it is I will wake up after a peaceful night’s sleep to a media frenzy and obamabot apocalypse over the actions of a supposed “tea party kook”.
Kind of like knowing it’s time to mark the doorframe, put on my shoes and coat, and wait until the angel of death passes over. Cripes...
How long did it take him to get around the SC decision about AZ? About 5 minutes? He will get around a decision striking down the mandate.
IMO, he’s not going to need to write an EO.
Pivotal?
More like, cataclysmic.
For The List.
yah... talk about pissing in the wind...
"It should be remembered as an axiom of eternal truth in politics, that whatever power in any government is independent, is absolute also; in theory only at first while the spirit of the people is up, but in practice as fast as that relaxes." --Thomas Jefferson to Spencer Roane, 1819.
What successor? What makes you think he will step down after “ruling” for 4 years? If he gets by with that we’re stuck util he dies or there is a successful coup.
Somewhere along the line the Democrats are going to have to stand up to this despot or find themselves completely blamed and out of power for allowing this power mad nut to go this far.
